Controllership Senior Manager, Costa Rica Lead

What this job involves: 

  • Oversight of a diverse team of approximately 70 Controllership professionals across multiple business lines 

  • Execution of Controllership senior leadership strategy for both people management and operational excellence  

  • Liaison between Controllership and broader JBS Costa Rica Shared Services organizations 

  • Contribution to our OneFinance vision through financial stewardship and cross-functional collaboration to support business growth 

 

What your day-to-day will look like: 

Team Management 

  • Provide onsite leadership to a diverse team of Controllership professionals based on strategic direction from the Global Controllership Leadership Team 

  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and capabilities 

  • Administer performance evaluations, career development plans and succession planning based on direct feedback from onshore managers 

  • Implement strategies to enhance team cohesion, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and high performance 

  • Act as key local liaison between Controllership and broader JBS Costa Rica Shared Services organizations 

Operational Excellence 

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple service teams, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery which meets or exceeds quality standards and contractual obligations 

  • Maintain compliance with relevant industry regulations and company policies 

  • Implement and oversee quality control processes across all service areas 

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs); and present regular reports on team performance and key metrics to onshore managers 

  • Identify and recommend opportunities for standardization and process efficiencies, in addition to escalating potential risks to onshore senior management 

  • Ad hoc project or BAU activity support 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting or a related field 

  • 8+ years of progressive management experience, with at least three years in a senior leadership role (leading other team leaders or managers) 

  • Proven track record successfully managing large, diverse teams across multiple service areas 

  • Strong understanding of operational processes, quality management systems and service delivery best practices 

  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and drive innovation 

  • Strong financial acumen 

  • Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics
