Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Control and Protection Engineer to design, implement, test, and maintain control and protection systems for high-voltage substations and power generation facilities. This role involves ensuring the reliable and safe operation of critical electrical infrastructure through advanced engineering solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
* Design and develop control and protection schemes for substations, including relay settings, logic diagrams, and single-line diagrams, adhering to international and company standards.
* Prepare technical specifications, equipment lists, and bid documents for control and protection systems and associated components.
* Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of control and protection equipment on-site, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety protocols.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot complex control and protection system malfunctions, implementing effective corrective actions to minimize downtime.
* Collaborate with project managers, clients, and internal teams to define project requirements, provide technical support, and ensure successful project delivery.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and standards within the control and protection domain.
* Stay abreast of new technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes in power system control and protection.
* Provide technical training and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
Job Qualifications:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in the design, engineering, and commissioning of control and protection systems for high-voltage substations or power generation.
* Strong understanding of power system principles, fault analysis, and protection relaying concepts (e.g., distance protection, differential protection, overcurrent protection).
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
* Excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively in a team environment and interacting with clients.
* Fluency in Portuguese (written and spoken) is required; proficiency in English is a significant advantage.
* Availability for occasional travel to project sites.
