Job Summary

The Contracts Specialist will have basic knowledge of Government Contracts and enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced environment dealing with complex contracting matters. Under general supervision, this individual will be responsible for reviews of performance requirements ensuring compliance with basic contract, government regulations and customer specifications. The position will also require the candidate to work independently to research issues and formulate recommendations to management.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate customer requirements while ensuring compliance with the contract.

  • Prepare and administer routine correspondence, memoranda, and contract documentation.

  • In coordination with Department management, advise internal customers on various policies, procedures, approaches, and preferred practices.

  • Review all document submissions, including proposals and estimates, while ensuring compliance with the contract requirements, the Contractor’s approved business systems, and Client/Government requirements, rules, processes, or regulations.

  • Advise Project Managers and other project personnel on contract requirements.

  • Assist with internal/external data calls and serve as liaison to management.

  • Maintain extensive verbal and written communications with contracting personnel at Government agencies and to discuss issues of contract performance and administration.

  • Interface with Government Contracting Officers on a regular and routine basis.

  • Assist in monitoring and tracking obligations consistent with the contract requirements.

  • Develop and maintain collaborative, positive working relationships with internal and external customers based on respect, honesty, and transparency.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • Completion of an undergraduate college degree (preferred).

  • Typically 4+ years of experience in contracts administration or related experience working on a Government contract.

  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Creative problem solving and willingness to embrace a challenge.

  • Resiliency to change.

  • Eagerness to grow and advance with the organization.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and passport.

  • English fluency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous LOGCAP contracting or other similar experience.

  • Organized and systemic approach to task management that enables timely closure of actions.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Experience working with DFARS, Agency regulations, ITAR, etc.

  • Experience with IDIQ, T&M, Fixed Price, and/or Cost-type contracts.
