Position Summary:

As a Contract Manager you will support Patheon’s Drug Product and API Services by negotiating a variety of client-facing agreements globally. You will be a part of the Global Contract and Legal team that negotiates contracts with our customers and suppliers across the Patheon brand and you will report to the Senior Manager of Contracts – Drug Product Services. Getting deals done that all parties believe are fair, durable, and lay the foundation for long term partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

Draft, negotiate, and document completed client contracts, ensuring conformity to business needs, proper risk allocation and compliance with the group’s policies and procedures.

Develop rapport with internal participants, being a key partner in client relationships.

Communicate with internal partners and suppliers, providing direction and mentorship related to the contracting process.

Continually strive to make the contracting process and tools more efficient, effective, and customer centric.

Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs, including negotiation of supplier-facing agreements as needed.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (preferably in Business or Life Sciences); MBA and/or JD /LLB or 6+ years of demonstrated negotiation experience in the pharmaceutical industry (clinical and/or commercial) highly preferred.
  • Strong negotiation skills – we are looking for a negotiator willing to stand up to unprincipled techniques and pressures, instead finding creative options to break through negotiation impasses that work for all parties.
  • Consistent record negotiating complex contractual language
  • Working as part of team in matrixed environment to get results from disparate interested parties including procurement, finance, marketing, legal, quality, and site management/operations.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Superior communication skills with working knowledge of MS Office Applications
  • Ability to assess needs of business and design and implement creative and durable solutions
  • Ability to drive outcomes in a professional and constructive manner
  • Experience in FDA-regulated industries a plus
