The Contracts Manager reports into the Commercial function of Centrica Asset Financing and Metering (AF&M). The Commercial division sets the growth strategy whilst alongside driving commercial opportunities and decision making across the overall AF&M remit and cost base.

Key Accountabilities

You will play a key role in managing the full end‑to‑end contract lifecycle, from initial drafting and negotiation through to execution and ongoing contract performance. This will span a wide range of product and service categories, giving you the opportunity to influence critical commercial outcomes across the organisation.

                                                

In this role, you’ll work closely with a broad network of stakeholders and take an active role in internal governance forums to ensure commercial objectives are achieved. Your contribution will be central to driving cost control, optimising supplier performance and enabling effective decision‑making across Finance, Procurement, Legal and all Asset Financing and Metering (AF&M) functions.

We’re looking for a diligent, proactive professional who is confident managing a diverse and complex set of cost and revenue drivers. You will be skilled at delivering clear, timely analysis and recommendations, with strong prioritisation and workload balancing abilities. Your capacity to collaborate across functions and navigate competing demands will be key to your success.

  • Lead across the full contract lifecycle: drafting, negotiating, executing, monitoring performance undertaking renewals, and amendments including support in the preparation and negotiation of work orders/schedules.
  • Act as the primary liaison between internal teams (legal, procurement, finance, technical, operations) and external parties including suppliers and clients.
  • Managing internal and external stakeholder relationships to ensure alignment of service delivery with business requirements and that appropriate information is shared and problems are resolved efficiently
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations acting as escalation point for matters requiring commercial involvement to solve.
  • Negotiate and resolve disputes, conduct risk assessments

Skills and Experience

  • High degree of commercial awareness and drive
  • Successfully managed third party commercial relationships with demonstrable experience in building strong relationships internally and externally
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrable experience in formulating and drafting contracts
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders.
  • Capable of collaborating, leading and engaging cross functionally to ensure objectives are met in a timely and efficient manner
  • Able to summarise complex issues and work cross functionally to derive recommendations, communicating effectively to influence a diverse audience.
  • Clear and concise communication style with the ability to build strong internal relationships and engage/influence management teams.
  • Confidence and credibility to influence senior management decisions and the direction of the business.
