Job Description
Key Responsibilities May Include:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all contractual matters, ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and organizational policies. Oversee contract drafting, renewals, and close-outs while maintaining all relevant documentation, correspondence, and reports.
- Monitor daily production outputs and quality compliance to ensure SLA targets are achieved. Proactively address any non-adherence through corrective actions and identify recurring issues for resolution.
- Ensure smooth and efficient plant operations, including the procurement and management of raw materials and operational supplies to sustain service delivery. Oversee machinery and property maintenance to meet regulatory and operational standards.
- Act as the liaison between CHEP, service providers, and internal stakeholders (Supply Chain, Administration, and Operations) to align on targets, timelines, and deliverables. Facilitate contract strategy meetings and manage pricing discussions to meet operational objectives.
- Ensure strict adherence to Zero Harm policies and company risk standards. Monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, taking preventive and corrective actions as necessary.
- Develop and implement standardized procedures for contract management and plant operations to drive continuous improvement and efficiency. Handle ongoing issues and facilitate change management processes as required.
- Oversee SLA compliance, ensuring that performance metrics are consistently achieved and aligned with CHEP’s operational requirements. Monitor raw material usage and transaction compliance to minimize deviations.
- Lead and develop plant administration and operational teams to ensure high levels of productivity, quality, and employee engagement. Act as a mentor to direct and indirect reports to maximize team output and alignment with business goals.
Position Purpose
The incumbent will be responsible for the consistent management of all proposals and contracts signed between CHEP and the relevant Service Providers, which consists of Pallet/Container/RPC. In addition, the plant administration function will report to the successful incumbent. This will include the oversight of the contract management process, as well as adherence and development of specific agreed standards, contract negotiations and document management.
The incumbent will be required to manage direct and indirect reports ensure maximum output at acceptable quality standards without any damage to the environment or injury to the employees.
The Contracts Managers role in contract development requires close collaboration with various departments, including operations, project management, account management, business operations and finance. Day to day functions to be professionally managed to ensure employee satisfaction, good communication and that resolution between CHEP management and the Service Provider are achieved.
Ensure that the Operations objectives are supported in productivity improvement, plant and facilities are maintained in line with the best operations practises.
Key Accountabilities
- Oversee agreed organisational contract management activities and enforce organisational policies, principles of integrity and compliance
- Conduct contract strategy meetings to identify issues and client requirements, adherence to CHEP requirements, facilitate pricing discussions, daily targets and agree CHEP management input on timelines and deliverables
- Oversee the adherence to daily output targets and corrective action in terms of non- adherence
- Serve as a point of contact on all contractual matters. Act as the “middleman” between CHEP and the appointed Service Provider and clients.
- Ensure daily review of the production output and quality compliance.
- Maintaining of contractual correspondence, contact information, changes, status reports and other relevant documentation.
- Develop and implement procedures for contract management and administration in compliance with company policy.
- Support management with all the relevant CHEP departments ( Supply Chain and administration)
- Monitor of employee staff through agreed operating procedures and identify recurring issues
- Ensure adherence to the Company’s risk and Zero Harm policies
- Handle ongoing issues and change management.
- Monitor transaction compliance and correct deviances
- Oversee Service Level agreement compliance
- Ensure contract drafting, close-out, extension and renewal.
- Monitor all raw material usages on a daily basis.
- Procurement of all operational materials to ensure ongoing service delivery
Plant and Property Maintenance
- Responsible for a smooth, efficient operation of the plant and machinery at the Service Centre(s) in accordance with the Functional Outsource Company and Government Regulations and Standards
Key Requirements
- Degree in Operations, Production Management, or Industrial Engineering.
- Diploma acceptable with strong experience.
- Minimum 5 years in production/contract management and supervisory roles.
