Trade Support – Junior Contracts Analyst – Houston

Overview of Role

Gunvor is seeking a motivated and detail oriented individual who is ready to apply their knowledge in a fast-paced, real-world environment. The individual will support the deal life-cycle process with the timely preparation and delivery of contracts for all commodities traded by Gunvor USA, as well as verify broker confirmations and counterparty documentation.

Main Responsibilities

· Draft and review a wide range of commercial contracts (pipeline, truck, tank transfers and railcar) supporting physical oil commodities trading activities.

· Ensure the accuracy of data in the system through validation of the daily trade entries.

· Analyse contractual terms to identify commercial, operational and legal risk, ensuring appropriate protections are embedded and issues are escalated where required.

· Assist with the implementation and ongoing refinement of procedures and systems in response to new products or business activities.

· Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders providing clear and commercially focused advice.

· Engage with internal stakeholders and third parties to resolve contract discrepancies efficiently.

· Assist in testing software application releases related to contract system functionality.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

· Bachelor’s degree required in Law, Business, Economics or a related field.

· At least 2 years’ experience within a commodity trading environment.

· Working knowledge of Incoterms and how these terms are integrated into various contract provisions.

· Understanding of contract law principles and their application in the commodities trading industry.

· Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities to meet internal and external deadlines.

· Familiarity with General Terms and Conditions (GTC), template governance and contract standardization practices.

Beneficial Qualifications / Experience

· Experience in working with cross functional teams (Trading, Risk, Operations, Legal).

· Experience in improvements and digital transformation initiatives.

· Advance proficiency in Excel.
