PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Contracts Administrator I conducts administration of government and commercial contracts and subcontracts

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Documentation Support: Assist in the preparation, review, and maintenance of contract documentation for new contracts, modifications, and renewals. Ensure that all required documents are properly filed and compliant with regulatory standards.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Help ensure contracts comply with government regulations (e.g., FAR, DFARS), company policies, and specific contractual obligations. Track key dates and milestones (e.g., performance deadlines, payment terms).
  • Assist in Contract Negotiations: Support senior contract administrators in the negotiation and execution of contracts, amendments, and modifications. Gather and prepare necessary documentation and data for negotiations.
  • Contract Performance Tracking: Assist in gathering performance reports, tracking deliverables, and ensuring timely completion of contract terms.
  • Internal and External Coordination: Communicate with internal stakeholders (e.g., project management, finance, legal) and external parties (e.g., subcontractors, clients) to resolve issues related to contract performance or interpretation.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Assist in preparing reports on contract status, including compliance with terms and conditions, performance monitoring, and financial reporting.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the contracts team, including scheduling meetings, maintaining contract databases, preparing correspondence, and drafting routine contract-related documents.
  • Training and Development: Participate in on-the-job training and development opportunities to enhance contract administration skills and knowledge of government contracting regulations and policies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Contract Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. (Equivalent experience may be considered.)
  • Experience: 0–2 years of experience in contract administration, procurement, or related areas. Internships or coursework related to government contracting will be considered.
  • Knowledge of Government Regulations: Familiarity with basic government contracting regulations (FAR, DFARS) and contract terms is preferred, but not required. Training will be provided.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail with the ability to organize and track multiple documents and deadlines effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise, and accurate documentation and correspondence.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work efficiently in a team environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Experience with contract management software is a plus, but not required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Certifications related to contracts management, such as the Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) or Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), are a plus but not required.
  • Clearance: Must be able to obtain or hold a security clearance (e.g., Secret or Top Secret), if required by the position or project.
