Contractor, Network Management - Cigna Healthcare - Hybrid (Virgina)

Location: Virginia market (preferred: Richmond or McLean, VA)

Work Model: Hybrid – in office or provider visits 3 days per week

The Provider Contracting Lead Analyst supports day‑to‑day provider contracting and network activities. This role partners closely with internal teams and external providers to manage contracts, support value‑based arrangements, and maintain a competitive, high‑quality provider network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage submissions for provider contracting and fee‑for‑service negotiations
  • Support development and management of value‑based provider relationships
  • Build and maintain strong provider partnerships aligned to market strategy
  • Serve as a key liaison between providers and internal partners (Claims, Medical Management, Credentialing, Legal, Compliance, Sales, Service, etc.)
  • Support network development initiatives and identify opportunities to improve value and cost performance
  • Prepare and analyze the financial impact of provider contracts and alternative terms
  • Draft and manage Healthcare Professional (HCP) agreements and ensure accurate implementation
  • Support contract loading, submissions, and network maintenance activities
  • Assist with provider service issue resolution and escalations
  • Maintain knowledge of local provider markets, competition, and dynamics
  • Support initiatives focused on total medical cost reduction and quality outcomes
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Finance, Economics, Healthcare, or related field); equivalent experience considered
  • 1+ year provider contracting and negotiation experience required
  • 1+ year provider servicing or provider relations experience preferred
  • Understanding of hospital, managed care, and provider business models preferred
  • Strong relationship‑building, communication, and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced, matrix environment
  • Demonstrated financial, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
