The Contractor Direct Sales Specialist is responsible for business development, product training and product/technical support for our internal and external customers.  This position is critical for the company by demonstrating our continued commitment to supporting the Contractor Direct channel and assuring customer confidence in our products and service.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development (30%)

  • Filling in as sales support in open sales territories and targeted key customers across the US
  • Coordinating product training with key customers
  • Demo support on special/strategic jobsites
  • Sales development on targeted key products
  • Supporting special projects as directed and required

Product Training (30%)

  • Coordination of equipment for specified training
  • Coordination of proper training materials for these trainings
  • Participate/coordinate within area of specialization in Group training events
  • Participate and represent HCD at trade shows by request
  • Provide internal training of product as needed
  • Demo of equipment by request of field sales
  • New product setup/training to customer after sales

Product/Technical Support (30%)

  • Communicating competitive changes in the market to Product Management
  • Liaison between Product Management, Technical Services, and R&D on product field issues
  • Assist or leads training initiatives on existing or new products
  • Trouble shoot Technical Service issues on-site

Administration (10%)

  • Prioritizing schedule to fill in or travel as required to fit the needs of the business
  • Maintain CRM
  • Expense reporting management (vehicle, demo equipment, travel, etc)
  • Creating and distributing Field/Trip reports
  • Update individual KPI’s/Objectives – Quarterly/Annually

CRITICAL FUNCTIONAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Product knowledge
  • Knowledge of CRM, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook
  • Strong technical ability
  • Strong knowledge of CFS (Customer Focused Sales)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business required or equivalent working experience
  • 3-5 years Construction industry experience required

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Overnight travel 70-80% of the time
  • Work entirely on the road or from office
  • Regularly visit training sites including customer facility and/or on-site job sites
  • Occasional Lifting up to 100 lbs
