Job Description

Manages for one of the two contract services teams. Works across the organization to negotiate contracts, reduce risk and deliver results. Monitors and enhances team performance across all engagements. Coordinates multiple aspects of the Contract Services workflow and other individual projects. Identifies opportunities and develops new internal customer relationships. Provides advice to customers. Incorporates appropriate procurement processes and services to internal customers.

Responsibilities

- Holds direct management responsibility for a team within the Contract Services function.

- Serves as a trusted advisor to the Business Line (BL) and the Contract Services team.

- Works with senior leadership, including Management Committee Executives.

- Manages ambiguity and determines the path forward when direction is unclear.

- Acts as an expert in the processes, tools and procedures that affect the Contract Services function.

- Advocates for the team when working across the enterprise with 2nd line of defense functions.

- Leads negotiations, solves problems, and brings forward solutions or ideas for the entire group.

- Owns and is responsible for potential acquisition or amendment projects, including tracking, escalation and completion.

- Serves as the primary contact for specific business units, connecting with and servicing them, while working with senior leadership and Procurement Sourcing Team Managers to negotiate and execute contracts and involve procurement professionals.

- Oversees the development and maintenance of individual team staffing, including interviewing, hiring and onboarding.

- Mentors and develops team members.

- Participates in quality review and audit processes.

- Holds primary responsibility for reviewing and updating processes and procedures, including QA activities and process optimization.

- Works with Risk and Compliance Subject Matter Experts to ensure clear and concise language and guidance are included in working materials.

- Manages workflow and balances workloads to ensure efficiency, timeliness and development of team members.

- Works with TPRM Partners to align on process functions, including Contract Lifecycle Management Optimization, and owns and coordinates technology updates to tools affecting the team, collaborating with tool owners to ensure updates are reviewed, challenged and communicated.

- Maintains strong working relationships across the Law Division and Compliance (RCS) groups.

- Initiates team training activities to support ongoing policy development and understanding.

- Works on company-wide initiatives and enterprise projects, including critical, complex and high‑dollar initiatives involving offshoring, digital, agile and SaaS‑related agreements.

- Promotes a collaborative, problem‑solving environment across the team.

- Manages the team and its workload efficiently, while continuing to negotiate contracts with an increased focus on team administration, development and efficiency.

- Conducts one‑on‑one meetings with team members within larger team structures.

- Supports the evolution and enhancement of the working alignment with the Sourcing teams.

- Works with Senior Management on process and team optimization.

Basic Qualifications  
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- 10 or more years of experience in procurement contract activities

- 2+ years of management experience

- Extensive knowledge of purchasing, procurement, and contract negotiation and administration

- Demonstrated project management skills
- Effective skills in leadership and management of process, projects and people

Advanced understanding of applicable laws, regulations, financial services and regulatory trends that impact their assigned line of business

- Thorough understanding of contract structure and terms required to support the business line and clients

- Advanced understanding of the business line's operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls

- Proficient computer navigation skills, particularly word processing, spreadsheet, databases and presentations

- Effective skills at managing stressful situations

- JD preferred

Location Expectations

This role is posted as remote; however, candidates who are located near any one of our locations would be required to work on site at least three days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $133,365.00 - $156,900.00
