About the role:
As a Senior Software Engineer at YLD, you’ll be part of a client team building innovative products. We’re looking for someone curious, passionate, driven, and enthusiastic. You should be skilled in problem-solving and experienced in designing scalable, resilient, and fault-tolerant architectures. You’re also an effective communicator and a strong team player. Together with your team, you’ll thrive in a fast-paced engineering environment, delivering outstanding results and exciting projects.
Your day-to-day responsibilities:
- Architecting, designing, building, and delivering highly-available, always-on, zero downtime API products and solutions;
- Collaborating with engineers, product owners, and other colleagues to seek exciting and results-oriented problems for delivering value;
- Writing clear, maintainable code that will scale;
- Contributing to production operation and monitoring of systems and aware of SLAs;
- Learning, growing, and mentoring other engineers through code reviews and pair programming to accelerate their technical mastery;
- Proactively looking for ways to improve team processes;
- Driving good practices within your team, and making an impact on the whole department.
Preferred Skills:
- Senior-level experience building modern .NET applications using C# (7+), .NET / .NET Core (5+), and NuGet;
- Proven experience designing and implementing HTTP APIs using ASP.NET (MVC, Web API) and related frameworks;
- Strong background in testing strategies, including TDD, across the full system lifecycle, with a focus on performance optimization.
- Solid understanding of system design, including trade-offs in distributed systems, cloud architectures, and event-driven patterns;
- Experience working with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) cloud environments, ideally Azure;
- Familiarity with modern engineering practices such as CI/CD, pairing, and iterative delivery;
- Comfortable working in autonomous, agile teams with shared ownership and accountability;
- Willingness to participate in a flexible on-call rota, responding to and resolving critical production incidents.
- Use AI tools to augment your work, applying sound judgement to adopt emerging technologies where they genuinely add value and increase your impact as an engineer.
