MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS (Duties include but are not limited to the following):
Based in Hong Kong, he/ she will be part of Christie's Asia Pacific Legal team and report to the Deputy General Counsel, APAC.
- Conduct legal researches into various topics concerning art law, general commercial issues and compliance topics such as data privacy, AML, sanctions and labour law.
- Draft seller’s agreements, private sale and other consignment related documents, demand letters to debtors and other commercial agreements based on global templates.
- Prepare, review and draft simple agreements such as sponsorship, marketing, artwork exhibition, freelancer engagement, non-disclosure agreements, etc.
- Assist with copyright clearance and other related intellectual property matters.
- Assist with translations into English and Chinese.
- Prepare presentation materials for legal trainings to business teams.
- Assist the legal team with projects such as organizing the legal precedent databases, harmonizing terms and conditions etc.
- Liaise with external lawyers and other departmental staffs as necessary.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate from LLB or other LLB dual degree from a reputable University
- Completion of the Postgraduate Certificate in Laws or overseas equivalence is a plus
- Prior in-house or law firm experiences would be ideal
- Diligent and reliable, with high integrity and a strong commitment to professional ethics and confidentiality
- Team player and ability to work independently
- Highly flexible and adaptive to rapid changes in the working environment
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated
- Excellent command of both spoken and written English, Cantonese and Mandarin
- Excellent command of MS Office (Word track changes, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint, Chinese Word Processing are pre-requisites)
Salary Range
HKD20,000 to 22,000 per month
