Job Overview
Georgetown is seeking a Contract Officer, Capital Procurement to draft, review and approve supplier contracts and master agreements, as well as guide GU stakeholders through the contracts process with the goal of minimizing risk and liability in accordance with University policy and audit requirements. This role works with the Executive Director, Director of Strategic Sourcing, and Senior Contract Officer to ensure University procurements are aligned with University strategic goals. Additionally, this role will be responsible for training, supervising, and providing professional development to Contract Managers and Administrators.
Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation
The Contract Officer will report to the Executive Director and liaise directly with contract initiators within Georgetown’s large portfolio of Capital Projects and Construction. The Contract Officer will also work with other members of Georgetown Procurement Services on reviewing contracts and related policies and processes, conducting audits, and developing/delivering training material.
This position has been designated as Hybrid 2 Days. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, business, or related field from an accredited college or university
At least 5 years of experience in contract drafting, review and negotiations
4+ years of experience in contract review, business operations, or a related area
Ability to get to the root cause of problems quickly and find ways to resolve them either individually, within a team, and/or across disciplines. Then taking these findings and making sustainable change/improvements
Demonstrated experience in supervision of interns
Expertise with procurement concepts, practices, and procedures, especially in the area of contracts
Ability to work under multiple deadlines across varying stakeholder teams and interests
Proficiency in standard Google Suite, Microsoft Office products, virtual collaboration platforms and ERP systems (i.e. Zoom, Workday, Cognos, etc.)
Strong foundation to be self-motivated and work as part of a team
High attention to detail
Presentation and communication skills to present data and build relationships across various stakeholder groups; ability to train others in similar skillsets
This role is designated as hybrid 2-days, the in-person time is desired for spending time with interns, stakeholders, and working face to face on trainings, contract review, resolving issues, and other duties as applicable
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree
Contract Review experience in construction and capital projects, especially in a university setting
Data Analytics including Tableau, Looker Studio, Python, etc.
Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$66,783.00 - $126,720.23Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
