Dow has an exciting part-time cooperative education job opportunity available in Midland, MI or Houston, TX. This position is open to qualified and highly committed college students enrolled in a fully accredited college or university located very close to the Houston Dow Center or Midland Dow site. Unlike a short-term internship project outside of school terms, this particular role is a long-term, year-round, undergraduate student position -- at least one full year in duration -- while the student is simultaneously taking classes toward an undergraduate degree. This opportunity offers the student valuable professional work experience in a dynamic, multi-national corporation interfacing with colleagues and leaders in many different roles. This program is designed for academically successful students who meet ALL of the specific job and co-op program requirements listed below and who can simultaneously succeed both in school and in a professional work environment.

About This Role

In this role, you’ll support the Dow Center for Contract Labor, a global, cross-functional team focused on governing and improving how contract labor is managed across the company. Your work will span HR Contract Labor Team support, process and documentation management, data analysis, and coordination with a broad range of stakeholders—providing hands‑on exposure to how enterprise‑level programs operate in a global organization.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll support day‑to‑day operations and improvement efforts for a global HR program. You’ll gain exposure to how enterprise‑level HR governance and compliance work in practice—experience that translates well to future business, HR, or operations roles.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating meetings, agendas, notes, and action‑item tracking
  • Organizing and maintaining SharePoint and intranet documentation
  • Assisting with data analysis, self‑assessments, and reporting
  • Helping draft and finalize presentations and team materials
  • Supporting cross‑functional projects and supplier interactions

Required Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited college or university, successfully completing a minimum of 6 credit hours in the Fall & Winter terms (~Sept-Apr).
  • Live within 50 miles of the Dow Midland or Houston site.
  • Able to work a minimum of 16 hours per week year‑round during business hours (Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm | Maximum of 8 hours/day and 30/week during the academic year).
  • Ability to commit to the role for at least one full calendar year before completing undergraduate studies.
  • Demonstrates reliable attendance and punctuality, with dependable transportation and strong time‑management skills to support consistent on‑site work.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Qualifications

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • There is no required course of study for this position, but students pursuing Business majors may be the best fit for this position.
  • Availability to commit longer than one year prior to completing the undergraduate degree program.

Additional Notes

  • Any current Dow college co-ops wishing to transfer into this role must have been in their current role at least one full year, must have at least one full year left before graduating or transferring out of the area, and must have supervisor approval before applying to each Dow co-op job posting.
  • Candidates who receive a job offer will be required to pass a background check and drug screen/medical evaluation and will verify school-related requirements and I-9 documentation before being hired into Dow.
