Contract Associate (Reinsurance)

Seattle - Fifth Avenue Full time

Company:

Guy Carpenter

Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at Guy Carpenter. This role will be based in Seattle, Edina, New York, or Philadelphia. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

This role is responsible for handling the full lifecycle of reinsurance contracts—drafting language, initiating transmittals, and coordinating execution—while building broker and client relationships and handling inquiries. Utilizing Guy Carpenter’s AI-assisted tool for contract analysis, mentor new hires through the Contract Drafter Academy, and lead or support projects to develop training and workflow tools that improve team efficiency and accuracy.

We will count on you to:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of reinsurance contracts for assigned accounts: draft contract language to reflect negotiated intent, initiate transmittals, and coordinate execution of final documentation.

  • Serve as primary liaison to reinsurance brokers and clients, addressing contract-related inquiries and building strong relationships.

  • Perform reinsurance contract analysis independently or with the Global Contract Consultant team, leveraging Guy Carpenter’s AI-assisted contract analysis tool.

  • Mentor and develop team members through the Contract Drafter Academy and Guy Carpenter onboarding, and lead or collaborate on projects to create training and workflow tools that improve efficiency and accuracy.

What you need to have:

  • Minimum of two years’ reinsurance experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience in a corporate environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills; able to work independently, manage priorities, and maintain close attention to detail.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

What makes you stand out:

  • Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designation and/or law degree.

  • Knowledge of contract law, contract provisions, reinsurance concepts and principles, basic regulatory controls, and general business trends.

Why join our team:

  • We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.

  • We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have an impact on colleagues, clients and communities.

  • Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.

At Guy Carpenter, a Marsh business, you can be your best. We work on challenges that matter with colleagues who help bring out our best.
