Job Overview

The Procurement Team is looking for a Contract Administrator (CA or Contract Administrator) with an outstanding work ethic, genuine interpersonal skills, and strong organizational skills in connection with the management of technology purchasing for Georgetown University. The incumbent will (i) engage with Planning and Facilities Management (PFM) stakeholders and Suppliers; (ii) be responsible for pre-screening construction contracts, (iii) help facilitate all aspects of procurement for capital projects assure quality control, and (iv) provide critical support to the Contract Officer, Capital Procurement, to these ends. 

Work Interactions

Reporting directly to the Contract Officer, the Contract Administrator’s primary responsibilities include preparing, negotiating, and reviewing construction contracts and drafting change orders and task orders. The Contract Administrator will demonstrate a keen attention to detail and identify potential risks for the University and will exhibit strong analytical skills to analyze contracts and spot issues aiming to reduce costs. The Contract Administrator will endeavor to constantly improve processes with creative engagement and strong communication skills while collaborating within and across teams in a vital University function. The CA contributes to the successful procurement of information technology that meets Georgetown University’s stringent ethical, technical, and security needs. 

 

Remote work has become a norm, work ethic and a professional ‘presence’ (even when remote) by the incumbent should be exemplary to gain traction with stakeholders. As a hybrid employee, the CA will make daily use of virtual and remote communication tools like Zoom™ and conference calls.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in construction contract review and capital projects procurement. 

  • A solid understanding of construction and its many facets. 

  • Excellent organizational, negotiating, interpersonal skills. 

  • Adaptability and willingness to be trained on various technology platforms. 

  • Ability to collaborate effectively and congenially with parties across the University to facilitate the procurement of construction-related goods and services under deadlines. 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and troubleshoot. 

  • Aptitude to be proactive, positive, customer-focused, and prioritize multiple deadlines. 

  • Ability to listen and take note of stakeholder and vendor concerns/issues. 

  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Google documents, and Microsoft suite software. 

  • Excellent communication skills including writing proficiency. 

  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities 

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in construction procurement and higher education. 

  • Experience with issue spotting and reviewing and redlining construction agreements.

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$54,616.00 - $100,493.33

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
