Business Intelligence & Analytics includes roles that produce business intelligence (BI) insights from statistical reporting and data analysis methodologies that help to identify trends in large data sets, supported by data mining architectures/models/protocols. BI & Analysis techniques are applied across business (e.g. market economics, products, supply chain, marketing, sales, finance, HR, procurement, etc.).
Professional stream includes those who are individual contributors with main emphasis on applying technical/discipline knowledge rather than managing people to achieve results – although coaching/mentoring less experienced staff, informal supervisory responsibilities, or overseeing work of other lower level professionals or manage processes and program are common.

High-Level Position Purpose

Responsible for execution and maintenance of existing NAMCI data solutions & related support activities.  Applies analytical skills and knowledge of relevant datasets to spotlight trends, provide insights, highlight challenges, and identify improvement opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support existing data & intelligence assets, including reports, scripts, Power Apps, Power Automate flows, and Power BI dashboards developed by the North American Data & Intelligence team. This includes weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance management reporting, as well as on-demand enhancements and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with the local Data & Intelligence team to clarify change requests, replicate bugs, and ensure alignment on solution updates.
  • Proactively identify and perform preventive maintenance on deployed solutions to improve performance, reduce technical debt, and prevent system downtime.
  • Ensure solution documentation is consistently updated, enabling efficient troubleshooting and knowledge transfer. This includes technical documentation, user guides, and change logs.
  • Leverage internal and external resources, including best practices, documentation, and peer collaboration, to continuously improve solution quality and maintainability.
  • Take ownership of transitioned solutions, ensuring smooth handover from original developers and maintaining continuity in support and development.
  • Provide Super User and End User support for standard automation products, addressing issues, answering questions, and facilitating adoption.
  • Monitor the health and performance of deployed solutions, proactively identifying issues and escalating them to management when necessary.
  • Implement version control and change management practices to track updates, rollbacks, and deployments across automation assets.
  • Conduct periodic audits and performance reviews of automated processes to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Support data quality initiatives, ensuring that automated processes produce accurate, consistent, and reliable outputs.
  • Stay current with Microsoft Power Platform and automation trends, recommending new tools or features that could enhance existing solutions.

  • Monitoring & Alerting
    • Setting up or improving monitoring mechanisms for flows, dashboards, and scripts.
    • Advising on thresholds for alerts and escalation protocols.
  • User Support & Training
    • Supporting Super Users and End Users with troubleshooting and usage guidance.
    • Providing input on training materials or onboarding guides.
  • Data Quality & Governance
    • Identifying data inconsistencies or anomalies caused by automation.
    • Recommending validation rules or data cleansing steps.
  • Tooling & Platform Updates
    • Evaluating the impact of Microsoft Power Platform updates on existing solutions.
    • Advising on when to upgrade or migrate components.
  • Security & Access Control
    • Reviewing access permissions for apps, flows, and reports.
    • Ensuring sensitive data is handled according to company policies.

Required experience & skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Economics, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., PL-900, PL-100, PL-400, or DA-100) are a plus.
  • Experience in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is beneficial.
  • Azure Cloud Computing basics.

Technical Skills

  • Power Platform Expertise: Proficiency in Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Apps for maintaining and enhancing existing solutions.
  • Scripting & Automation: Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or SQL for automation and data manipulation.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Strong understanding of data models, DAX, and performance optimization in Power BI.
  • Process Monitoring: Familiarity with monitoring tools and techniques to proactively detect and resolve issues in automated workflows.
  • Version Control: Experience with tools like Git or Azure DevOps for managing changes and deployments.

 Data & Systems Knowledge

  • Understanding of data governancedata quality, and ETL processes.
  • Experience working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Azure SQL) and cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure).
  • Knowledge of API integrations and connectors used in Power Platform solutions.

 Collaboration & Communication

  • Ability to work closely with business users, developers, and analysts to clarify requirements and troubleshoot issues.
  • Strong documentation skills for maintaining solution guides, change logs, and user manuals.
  • Experience providing end-user support and training for automation tools and dashboards.

Maintenance & Support Experience

  • Proven experience in maintaining and supporting production-grade automation solutions.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance, identify root causes, and implement long-term fixes.
  • Familiarity with incident managementticketing systems, and support SLAs.
