Business Unit Overview

This position is part of Novanta’s Advance Surgery (AS) business unit. Specialized in the field of Minimally Invasive Medicine, AS develops devices and accessories so that doctors can operate with small cuts. We produce Cameras, Insufflators, Medical Pumps, and tubing that makes diagnosis and treatment easier for everyone. Our insufflators and pump systems dilate cavities in the body and turn previously complicated surgeries into minor procedures. Together with customers, doctors, and technical experts, our teams continuously search for new ways to innovate. Every 7s we help to ensure life of people.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for supporting and drive the Novanta Growth System (like Danaher Production System or Toyota Production System), Lean and Shopfloor management, problem solving and value stream management, organization and execution of NGS activities at Novanta Medical GmbH

General tasks

  • Support and drive the Novanta Growth System

  • Shopfloor management, problem solving and value stream management

  • Organization and execution of NGS activities, such as projects, workshops and 5-S audits

  • Implementation and follow-up of the implementation measures as well as the subsequent reporting

  • Logging and follow-up of the implementation of measures from the NGS activities

  • Continuous Improvement, KPI improvements (quality, on-time delivery, productivity, inventory)

  • Initiate projects and implement them in collaboration with the value streams

  • Log and follow up on tasks from daily GEMBA walks.

  • Communicator between Management and staff

  • Strategic alignment of NGS activities at PRE with Corporate, Berlin, Ludwigsstadt, and Sonneberg sites.

  • Reporting NGS relevant KPI to workshops, improvement actions

  • Support and drive of the Novanta Growth System

  • Temporary assistance in other operational areas

  • Initiation and active participation in NGS measures

  • Active participation in the innovation process

  • Strict compliance with quality, occupational safety and environmental regulations and implementation of instructions from quality/environmental representative and occupational safety specialist

Required Experience, Education, Skills and Competencies

  • University degree (production technology or process engineering) or comparable education corresponding to the requirements

  • Min. 7 years of professional experience in the field of manufacturing – strong track record in driving imprevements and change

  • Very good knowledge of Lean methods and their application in practice – Green- or Black-Belt education or comparable knowledge base

  • Knowledge of project work and conducting workshops, as well as implementing them in practice

  • Familiar with the KAIZEN WS format

  • Advanced Czech language skills

  • Advanced English language skills

  • Quality conscious, trustworthy and reliable

  • Team player

  • Good communication skills

  • Structured and systematic way of working hands on mentality

  • Willingness to travel to all Novanta locations and business contacts of Novanta – Berlin, Ludwigsstadt and Sonneberg
