CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT ENGINEER
TARKETT is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join the team at the Florence Campus. This position is focused on removing waste from the value stream. This includes improving existing processes to remove unwanted waste as well as reducing or eliminating Cost of Poor-Quality issues within processes. This position reports to the Quality Manager.
What this role is responsible for:
- Manage the campus Kaizen program.
- Perform Value Stream Mapping to capture waste throughout processes.
- Own the Cost of Poor-Quality cost reduction program with a focus on the operating systems at Tarkett.
- Work directly with the supply chain team to remove waste and reduce material cost.
- Act as a change agent in the organization by driving change and implementing continuous improvement processes, while utilizing and improving existing methodologies.
- Collect and analyze data on plant processes, procedures, and performance using evaluation tools and make recommendations for improvement to Leadership Team.
- Analyze, develop, ratify, implement, and standardize manufacturing best practices across the network
- Prioritize and select appropriate CI projects that have the highest impact on cost and risk reduction.
- Coordinate priority of CI in daily activities in plant, tracking and monitoring key performance indicator (KPI) progress.
- Track, Monitor, and report regularly on the status of projects.
- Initiate and project manage the Cost Deployment process.
- Participate in multi-functional teams to solve problems as well as partnering with production, engineering, supervision, material handling, and the shop floor associates to utilize Continuous Improvement tools to identify and implement changes.
Education & Experience Desired:
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in the implementation of operational improvement within manufacturing
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or closely related field
- Green Belt/Black Belt certification is preferred
- Experience in project management preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required with functional knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint. Experience or knowledge of Power BI and Minitab a plus.
