As a Continuous Improvement Engineer you will be a key member of Arxada’s global Continuous Improvement team, partnering closely with site and functional leaders to drive operational excellence. In this role, you will apply scientific and engineering expertise to identify opportunities, solve complex problems, and deliver measurable cost, efficiency, and performance improvements. You will lead and influence cross‑functional teams, mentor others in CI methodologies, and ensure projects deliver results safely, on time, and within budget.
Essential Job Functions
- Develop deep process expertise in assigned areas, including chemistry, equipment operation, process limitations, cost drivers, yields, and usage
- Partner with manufacturing sites to implement operating discipline and continuous improvement principles using Lean, Six Sigma, and related methodologies
- Lead and support cost‑saving initiatives, including feasibility assessment, conceptual cost analysis, and technical risk evaluation
- Teach, mentor, and coach teams in the effective use of continuous improvement tools and methodologies
- Represent the technical team in project meetings, influencing data‑driven decisions and adherence to committed timelines and cost targets
- Analyze process and performance data to identify root causes, define corrective actions, and drive sustainable improvements
- Manage CI projects within your area of responsibility, ensuring delivery of defined and measurable results
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of business objectives
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering required
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in continuous improvement, process engineering, or operational excellence
- Strong experience with Lean Six Sigma, Operational Discipline, OEE, or similar CI frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence without direct authority
- Advanced problem‑solving, analytical, and data interpretation skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly
- Willingness to travel up to 50% as required by project needs
Preferred Certifications & Tools
- Lean or Six Sigma certification
- Experience with tools such as Minitab and ChemCad process modeling
Compensation (U.S. Postings Only)
The expected salary range for this role is 98k-110k annually but specific employee compensation may vary depending on factors including experience, education, training, licensure, certification, location, and other job‑related, non‑discriminatory factors permitted by law.
This role is also eligible to earn a short‑term incentive bonus and the following benefits: 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, and paid sick leave.
