Program Summary

KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey. Our services ensure smooth operations, allowing Air Force and government personnel to focus on their missions. We provide program management, civil engineering, morale, welfare, and recreation support, among other essential services. Awarded by the Air Force Installation Contracting Center, our contract spans a five-year base period with three one-year options, reflecting our commitment to excellence and operational support.

Job Summary

The USAF Dining Facility (DFAC) Shift Leader is a working lead that supervises daily food service operations during assigned shifts, ensuring efficient meal preparation, service, and cleanliness. This role oversees kitchen staff, assigns tasks, and monitors performance to maintain high standards of quality and productivity. The Shift Leader ensures compliance with Air Force food safety, sanitation, and operational procedures. They coordinate with management to address staffing needs, resolve issues, and maintain smooth dining facility operations. Additionally, the Shift Leader assists his staff with menu preparations, cooking and serving when required.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen and dining facility staff during assigned shifts.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide guidance to ensure efficient and high-quality meal service.
  • Ensure compliance with Air Force food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
  • Oversee meal preparation, portion control, and timely service to meet operational requirements.
  • Assist with training and mentoring new staff members on DFAC procedures and standards.
  • Monitor inventory, track supply usage, and report shortages or discrepancies to management.
  • Address and resolve staff or operational issues to maintain smooth dining facility operations.
  • Maintain organized work areas, equipment, and records in accordance with Air Force policies.
  • Daily use of strong leadership and team management skills to supervise staff effectively.
  • Follow Air Force procedures, schedules, and safety regulations
  • Additional duties as assigned by Dining Facility Manager.

Basic Qualifications

  • Turkish Citizen
  • High School Graduate
  • Ability to Speak, Read, and Understand Level 3 English
  • Training or certification in food safety, sanitation, or culinary practices (e.g., ServSafe).
  • Previous experience in food service, preferably in a military or large-scale dining facility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience leading or supervising food service staff in a DFAC or large-scale kitchen.
  • Experience with inventory management, supply ordering, and stock control.

All positions require the applicant to obtain and pass a medical physical that is certified by a doctor.

All positions require a current and favorable Turkish Security background check.

All male candidates must have completed their military service.
