Program Summary

KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey. Our services ensure smooth operations, allowing Air Force and government personnel to focus on their missions. We provide program management, civil engineering, morale, welfare, and recreation support, among other essential services. Awarded by the Air Force Installation Contracting Center, our contract spans a five-year base period with three one-year options, reflecting our commitment to excellence and operational support.

Job Summary

The Apprentice Baker assists in the preparation, mixing, and baking of pastries, and other baked goods under the supervision of experienced bakers. This role involves learning proper techniques, following recipes, and maintaining quality and consistency in all products. The apprentice helps with ingredient preparation, measuring, and portioning, as well as cleaning and organizing the kitchen and equipment. This position provides hands-on training in baking operations while ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation standards. Over time, the apprentice develops the skills needed to produce baked goods independently and efficiently.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist in measuring, mixing, and preparing ingredients for baked goods according to recipes.
  • Accurately follow recipes, instructions, and baking procedures
  • Learn and apply proper baking techniques under the guidance of experienced bakers.
  • Monitor ovens and baking times to ensure products are baked correctly and consistently.
  • Help shape, portion, and decorate bread, pastries, and other baked items.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, workstations, and baking equipment.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards always.
  • Support inventory management by tracking ingredients, restocking supplies, and reporting shortages.
  • Physical requirements include lifting moderate weights and ability to stand for long periods.
  • Work in a fast pace production environment
  • Additional duties as assigned by lead, Dining Facility Manager, supervisor, etc

Basic Qualifications

  • Turkish Citizen
  • High School Graduate
  • Ability to Speak, Read, and Understand Level 2 English
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a bakery, café, or food service environment.
  • Familiarity with baking equipment such as mixers, ovens, and proofers.
  • Experience following food safety standards such as HACCP or ServSafe.
  • Culinary coursework or certification in baking, pastry, or related field

All positions require the applicant to obtain and pass a medical physical that is certified by a doctor.

All positions require a current and favorable Turkish Security background check.
