Bucknell University seeks a Content Strategist to provide dedicated content and communications support for a faculty-led research initiative focused on translating scientific information on addiction for a general audience through digital and social media platforms. The position supports the scholarly and public-facing work of a specific faculty member and their research students.Job Duties:

Full-time (52 weeks per year/ 40 hour work week)
Lead content planning and execution in support of a faculty-led research initiative focused on public communication and education.
Oversee the creation, review, and distribution of digital content related to the faculty member’s research and public engagement efforts, ensuring quality, clarity, and consistency.
Translate complex ideas or research into accessible, engaging content for broad audiences.
Use data and performance insights to evaluate content effectiveness and inform ongoing strategy and improvement.
Coordinate and guide the work of research students or other contributors supporting the faculty member’s content and outreach activities.
Provide editorial direction, feedback, and mentorship to support quality work and skill development.
Develop and maintain practical processes to support efficient planning and production of content related to the faculty member’s work.
Collaborate with the faculty member and their research team to align content activities with research communication and public education goals.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of work experience in communications, marketing, content creation, or related fields.
Knowledge Areas and Skills Required:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interpret and explain complex information, demonstrated by writing, editing and proofreading experience.
Experience managing projects, workflows, or teams.
Strong understanding of visual and digital content best practices.
Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities in a collaborative environment.
Interest in addressing the gap in scientific literacy as it pertains to addictive drugs.
Education: Bachelor's degree and extensive work experience.
Experience: 3 or more years experience in communications, marketing, or media production.
Knowledge Areas and Skills Preferred:
Experience managing people or creative teams.
Familiarity with startup media environments or mission-driven organizations.
Proficiency with social media platforms, analytics tools, and content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
Experience using project management tools and systems.
Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time
Able to move about the office, with or without accommodations, to access office equipment such as phones, copiers and printers.
Ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of students, both at Bucknell and internationally.

49,200.00-61,500.00The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.
