This role is in support of NWOS, a Cencora business offering the supply of surgical appliances in the UK.

Role Summary

We are looking for a customer-focused Pharmacy Dispensing/Order Processing colleague to support the accurate dispensing and supply of prescription medication and medical appliances to patients, under the direction of a licensed professional. You will process orders received via phone, email, fax and online portals, provide clear updates to customers on order progress and stock availability, and ensure all activity is completed within company regulations, agreed timescales, and Good Distribution Practice (GDP) requirements.

Location: Leigh, Greater Manchester
Job Type: 6 month Fixed Term Contract

Hours: Typically Monday-Friday between the hours of 9am and 6pm (Flexibility may be required), 35 hours per week

Salary: £22,822.80, increasing to £23,132.20 from April 1st.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer care to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.

  • Accurately dispense and process inbound/outbound orders for medication and medical appliances in line with local SOPs, regulatory requirements and agreed cut-off times.

  • Respond to customer queries, complaints and information requests calmly and effectively, providing updates within agreed timescales.

  • Proactively contact customers (phone/email) to confirm order status, lead times and stock availability.

  • Escalate issues requiring special action to the Contact Centre Team Leader.

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of customer information in line with Information Governance requirements and GDPR.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and customers at all levels.

  • Continuously develop product and process knowledge, including gaining an understanding of surgical items and typical quantities (Part IX of the Drug Tariff) – training will be provided.

  • Complete required GDP training, including SOP training and refreshers as per the personal training matrix.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong rapport-building ability.

  • Demonstrable customer focus and the ability to handle difficult conversations with patience and professionalism.

  • Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping.

  • Ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple tasks to deadlines with efficiency and accuracy.

  • Calm under pressure with sound problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Confident IT and keyboard skills.

  • Highly motivated, proactive, flexible and open to giving/receiving constructive feedback.

  • Experience in a Contact Centre and processing environment (preferred/required as applicable).

  • Team-working mindset with the ability to contribute to shared goals.

  • Willingness to learn and follow SOPs and GDP principles for the distribution of medicinal products.
