Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Responsible for analyzing and compiling information to assist underwriters and to assure the accuracy of all documents, pricing, funding, collateral, and booking for Retail Lending. This position will also support the underwriters and take appropriate actions to compile documents required for credit decisions and booking. Conduct document audits, validate data and reconcile errors for booking for Secured and unsecured Retail Lending products (i.e., Home Equity Line of Credit, Home Equity term loans, and Direct Installment loans) across multiple states, Markets, and geographic regions. Provide superior customer service while also “Partnering and Performing” to both internal and external customers (Retail Banking Center Managers, Vendors, other departments, etc…) Will also not only order but also analyze vendor work, VOI, etc. for underwriters and compile all loan documents for underwriter to review in addition to communication with sales centers on a consistent basis Support process improvement and contribute to achieving business objectives. Accept additional projects as identified.
  • Order all necessary vendor work via approved vendor, in addition to any stipulations the underwriter notes on “pending approval”, i.e., assets, PFS, trust agreement, VOI, etc… and create a file.
  • Communicate with the Retail Banking Center lender on follow up with the stipulations needed to satisfy the loan approval outside the vendor work. Responsible to know what the underwriter has requested and what the file is missing in order to move it efficiently to final approval status.
  • As the vendor work/stipulation documents come in from the vendor/Retail Banking Center, this individual would then initially review, raise any concerns to the underwriter, attach the vendor work/income/trust agreement/Personal Financial Statements, assets, etc.. into the consumer loan system, assign the loan to the underwriter’s final approval queue, and give the physical file to the underwriter to continue to work on for final approval.
  • Answer any questions that arise from banking center on what is needed in order for file to be approved.
  • Attempt to resolve any issue to the best of their ability through contact with the banking center lender or notify the underwriter immediately in order to exceed the Consumer Lending Service Level Agreement.
  • Responsible for reviewing consumer credit applications and files for Retail Lending. Duties include file preparation, pipeline management; compile documents for underwriting, funding, reconciling pre-closing or post-closing exceptions/stipulations, missing item report, and securing real estate collateral through mortgage recording process.
  • Approves or rejects loan files presented for booking. Assist in the facilitation process to correct rejected files.
  • Anticipates, plans, and executes problem resolution within department and with the banking centers.
  • Maintains efficient processes to meet production goals and quality standards to meet business objectives.
  • Assist internal and external clients (Retail Banking Center Managers and vendors) in researching and resolving questions/issues related to underwriting, processing, or booking of a loan.
  • Review loan files in process to assure compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Perform verification and audit of all loan documentation, ensuring that compliance with the terms and conditions of all aspects of the credit approval has been met.
  • Provide superior service to both internal and external customers at all times.
  • Create loan documents for Banking Centers for client’s closings.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed to Perform Essential Functions of the Job

  • 2-5 years
  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent business experience required
  • Minimum of 1 year consumer lending, banking, or financial services experience
  • Experience with appraisal, title, flood certifications, tax returns, PFS statements, trust agreements, etc.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management and external customers
  • Strong attention to detail and level of follow up
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently in a team environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel

$19.47- $23.56/hour
