The Role:

It’s an exciting time to be joining Ogilvy Consulting. We’re growing and we’re looking for a Consulting Director, Brand, Growth and Innovation specialist to join a team of consultants drawn from a diverse range of experiences, skillsets and passions. Consulting Directors tend to have 8+ years of experience in consulting, strategy or client-side strategy roles.

Our Consulting Directors bring a unique blend of creative thinking, strategic depth, and analytical rigour. They're broad thinkers and self-starters with specialisms that help clients drive business and customer growth through rigorous, insight-driven growth and brand strategy. With hands-on experience across consumer and commercial strategy, innovation and brand transformation, they are trusted advisors to senior commercial and marketing leaders and are just as strong in researching and framing solutions as they are in presenting them.

As a Consulting Director at Ogilvy Consulting, you will lead clients through complex commercial and brand challenges as they adapt to fast-changing market conditions and ambitious growth goals - helping them identify where and how to grow and translating that ambition into clear strategies and executable plans. You'll partner with them across the full arc of growth: from consumer insight and market opportunity assessment, through to brand positioning, portfolio strategy, innovation territories, go-to-market execution and brand transformation implementation. This includes building rigorous commercial cases, designing scalable growth models and developing the strategic narratives and internal engagement plans that secure senior buy-in and drive measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the day-to-day project engagement; you will own and lead projects and workstreams and act largely independently with your project teams. You apply the right methodologies and have an agile mindset, taking ownership of client deliverables and timelines, producing exceptional output that is strategically rigorous, visually compelling and built to land with senior audiences
  • Delivering high-quality work directly as well as through others; you are as comfortable producing the work yourself as you are directing and elevating the work of those around you
  • Managing client relationships strategically, commercially and operationally
  • Leadership of, or participation in, strategic new business proposal development and pitches, taking ownership of proposals and scoping project requirements
  • Participating in all aspects of the methodology and work, including creative thinking and developing strategic recommendations to complex business challenges
  • Ensuring Ogilvy Consulting has an impact in client meetings and presentations, internally and externally
  • Working with other Ogilvy and WPP businesses to identify, scope and deliver strategic engagements that “bring more of Ogilvy to the table”
  • Keeping abreast of innovations in your area(s) of expertise, actively contributing to the knowledge base and developing thought leadership
  • Acting as a role model; you are regularly sought out after for views by peers and the wider team
  • Actively managing, mentoring and empowering junior team members, fostering an environment of continuous learning, psychological safety, and growth within project teams and the wider Consulting team
  • Contributing to a positive, diverse working environment that fosters high-quality output, and coaching others on the value of collaborative working

Requirements:

  • At least 8 years of experience in consulting, relevant strategy or client-side strategy roles
  • Proven track record of leading complex, high-impact client engagements from problem framing and insight through to strategy development and delivery, with evidence of commercial outcomes
  • Deep expertise across growth, brand and commercial strategy. You move fluently between creative strategic thinking (e.g. positioning, innovation, proposition design) and rigorous commercial analysis (e.g. scenario modelling, portfolio strategy), and know how to connect the two
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and visual storytelling skills. You translate complex problems into clear, compelling narratives that challenge conventional views and present ideas persuasively to gain buy-in and drive decisions
  • Sector experience across FMCG, F&B, logistics, telco, tech and B2B is advantageous
  • Practical fluency with AI tools (LLMs, synthetic audiences, rapid prototyping), demonstrated ability to identify and articulate the strategic value of AI for clients, and a strong desire to explore and exploit the opportunities AI can bring to brand, growth and innovation strategy
  • A confident, credible presence in client settings, comfortable presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Proactive, delivery-focused and adaptable. You get things done to a high standard, even in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
  • Collaborative and generous with your expertise, with a proven ability to build and nurture high-performing teams, inspiring confidence and fostering professional development in others
  • A curiosity and energy that runs through everything you turn your hand to and motivates others around you
