  • Lead the design and delivery of sustainability and ESG strategies that influence executive decision‑making and long‑term business direction

  • Guide clients through ESG disclosure, transformation, and implementation programs with rigor, credibility, and clarity

  • Play a visible leadership role in growing ERM’s Corporate Sustainability Advisory practice across North America

  • Mentor and develop high‑performing consulting teams while fostering a collaborative, inclusive culture

  • Help move organizations toward more sustainable, future‑ready business models—delivering both commercial and societal value

What You’ll Bring

Required

  • 8+ years of experience in an advisory or consulting environment, with accountability for client delivery and/or business development

  • Graduate degree in a relevant field, or a bachelor’s degree with equivalent additional experience

  • Extensive experience advising mining or metals clients on corporate sustainability and ESG topics

  • Demonstrated expertise in sustainability/ESG strategy, organizational design, disclosure, and implementation

  • Proven ability to build trusted, long‑term relationships with senior client stakeholders

  • Strong executive‑level communication skills, including the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, compelling narratives

  • Experience managing, mentoring, and developing consulting teams

Preferred

  • Experience working across additional sectors such as power, oil and gas, chemicals, or manufacturing

  • Located in Toronto, Canada 

Key Responsibilities

Client Leadership & Project Delivery

  • Lead and deliver sustainability advisory projects in line with quality, schedule, and budget expectations

  • Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, across varying size, scope, and complexity

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, building strong, enduring partnerships

  • Oversee full project lifecycles, including scoping, resourcing, budgeting, execution, and delivery

  • Demonstrate excellent analytical, writing, and presentation skills, with advanced proficiency in PowerPoint

  • Meet personal billability, revenue contribution, and other performance targets

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Manage and mentor junior consultants, fostering professional growth, engagement, and delivery excellence

  • Collaborate proactively with ERM colleagues across practices, regions, and geographies

  • Engage with external stakeholders, research organizations, and industry thought leaders to support knowledge sharing and innovation

Business Development

  • Support and lead business development efforts within Corporate Sustainability Advisory

  • Partner with ERM Partners, Principals, and account teams to shape and win new opportunities

  • Listen deeply to client needs and co‑develop practical, value‑driven sustainability solutions

For the Consulting Director, Corporate Sustainability position, the anticipated annual base pay is $155,705–$219,501 (CAD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).
