Ready to build a career that takes you beyond the office and into the field—where every survey, site, and artifact contributes to protecting cultural heritage? ERM is seeking an entry‑level Archaeologist who is eager to learn, travel, and grow alongside experienced professionals on meaningful projects across the United States, with a focus on the Mid‑Atlantic.
Why This Role Matters
Cultural resources shape the stories communities carry forward. In this role, you’ll help identify, document, and protect archaeological resources while supporting responsible development. Your work will directly inform compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act and contribute to thoughtful decision‑making that balances progress and preservation.
What Your Impact Is
Working closely with experienced Archaeologists, you’ll support Phase I, II, and III archaeological investigations—both in the field and in the office. You’ll help evaluate sites for National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) eligibility, assess project impacts under Section 106, and contribute to high‑quality technical documentation that stands up to regulatory review. With up to 70% or more of your time spent in the field during peak seasons, you’ll gain hands‑on experience that accelerates professional growth.
