Job Description

Within the Global Derivatives Practice, the Client Services team focuses on all aspects of the client relationship. This may include due diligence sessions with product and sales teams, operational workshops and participation in implementation/on-boarding with operations teams and relationship managers. Post-implementation, the Derivatives Client Services Team manages the product relationship, maintaining close contact with clients and/or internal client teams and acting in a proactive development role as well as serving as the primary escalation point for complex issues.

This role operates under general supervision but works well independently. Coordinates large and/or complex projects. Has technical expertise to resolve day-to-day queries, and serves as a liaison to related areas. Have both broad and in-depth knowledge in derivatives products, plus strong knowledge processing areas. Leads relatively complex, extensive, high profile activities e.g. direct interaction with clients and senior management. Demonstrates excellent Collaborative, analytical, consultative, communication and judgment skills. Focuses on maintenance and implementation of policies and procedures in the function with a Strong commitment to NT risk.

Major Duties

  • Act as liaison between clients, internal partners and derivatives operations

  • Provides support for escalation of issues related to complex derivative products. This may include settlements, trade support, client valuations etc

  • Research and analyze complex client inquiries. Handle difficult client situations professionally, offering support and provide resolution

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the each client support model, client strategy and future growth potential

  • Consistently operate to reduce operational risk and identify and escalate any potential risk situation

  • Facilitate continuous and improvements and pro-actively manage the change process. Fully evaluate implications of new requirements to existing processes to ensure process review smooth transitions ,and documenting the same

  • Maintain strong working relationship with internal support groups and provide input into strategic plans

  • May have direct interaction with clients and/or Senior Management

  • Able to facilitate discussions and reach Collaborative conclusions/decisions

Knowledge/Skills

  • Excellent oral, written and organizational skills

  • Knowledge of the Collateral & Derivatives– OTC , ETD , CCP product and operations environment from back or middle office, trade support, BA, etc.

  • Ability to develop and evaluate solutions while planning and prioritizing client activities to manage relationships effectively.

  • Ability to proactively determine client needs or issues by asking insightful questions and developing the client relationship

  • Ability to confidently discuss and articulate the different derivatives functions and operational processes

  • Confidence in interacting and communicating with all levels of management, clients and external asset managers

  • Ability to partner with others to help deliver solutions to client

  • Ability to effectively manage client and business partner expectations

  • Understanding of the complete end-to-end processes, business units, products and deliverables

  • Exceptional self-starting skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage issues through to closure

  • Excellent negotiation skills

  • Attention to detail and effective organizational skills to manage work and communicate with multiple work streams

  • Ability to drive Projects to Closure in pressured environment

Experience

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or applied sciences.

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in client service and/or financial service operations is preferred

  • Familiarity with products such as OTC and listed IRS and commodity derivatives, listed equities, various credit products, total return swaps, foreign exchange and interest rate products both bi-lateral, cleared and collateral management is strongly recommended

Eligibility - Internal Partners

  • 24 Months as a Technical Coordinator /Associate Consultant to move as a Consultant 

  • Movement within TL and Consultant Level will be 12 months
