What you’ll be doing

The Risk Data Initiatives (RDI) team is responsible for developing and executing initiatives that integrate data management and governance, quality assurance, and analytics, ensuring that high-quality data is readily available to support informed decision-making and regulatory compliance across the Enterprise Risk Management organization.

Reporting to the Director, Risk Data Initiative, Risk Data Management Office, the Consultant is responsible for supporting the project delivery of strategic risk data initiatives, helping ensure compliance with the Enterprise Data Management Lifecycle Policy and Standards. This includes the application of robust system implementation, and general data controls, governance & oversight.

As a member of the RDI team, the Consultant will work together with the Risk Management Segments, the individuals in data roles and other data governance stakeholders, helping execute the Risk Management data governance operating model.

How you’ll succeed

  • Project delivery: Support the execution of risk data initiatives by contributing to scope, risk and issue management and collaborating with stakeholders.

  • Data governance: Help implement and maintain robust data governance frameworks to ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance while supporting data governance activities across Risk Management Segments in alignment with the Enterprise Data Lifecycle Management Policy and associated Standards, processes and tools.

  • Communication and collaboration: Engage with the Risk Management data governance community to promote consistency, transparency, and execution excellence, including the preparation of relevant presentation materials and documentation.

  • Build relationships: Cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders by actively engaging in open communication, demonstrating empathy, and fostering a supportive environment.

Who you are

  • You have experience supporting data governance and compliance activities, including measuring and monitoring data quality, implementing and documenting improvements in data management and data governance processes to ensure user and regulatory requirements are met. You showcase ability to monitor adherence to data policies and standards. It’s an asset if you have knowledge of industry-standard frameworks such as DCAM and understanding of audit processes.

  • You have experience with data management and data governance platforms such as IGC, IDQ and Purview. Also, you have experience automating business processes by designing and implementing workflows that integrate various applications and services to streamline tasks using MS Power Automation platforms, as well as developing data reporting dashboards using Tableau and/or Power BI. It’s an asset if you have database modeling, programing experience including SQL, as well as familiarity with cloud data environments (e.g., Azure).

  • You have supported stakeholder engagement, with proven experience collaborating with business and technical stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of initiatives through risk identification, effective communication and progress reporting.

  • You are organized and structured in your thinking, and can manage multiple deliverables and tasks at a time. Experience developing training materials and mentoring teams on data governance best practices.

  • You can implement root cause analysis when diagnosing data-related issues and designing effective solutions.

  • You are bold and accountable, and have experience supporting end-to-end projects. You support your team achieve successful team performance.
