What you’ll be doing

As the Consultant, Risk Analytics, you will ensure the integrity of counterparty credit risk measures of capital markets products by carrying out daily quality assurance procedures and controls, and validating exposure changes. You will also partner with Risk Management Solutions and Technology to plan system enhancements in support of rising business and regulatory requirements related to the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of counterparty credit risk data and exposure measurements. You will communicate with a broad range of key stakeholders on data issue findings and collaborate to find solutions. In addition, you will assist in the maintenance of controls related to the integrity of risk data and conduct ongoing data quality reviews and ensure that new initiatives meet the standards required to support the business unit’s objectives and overall controls. You will be cross trained extensively with other trading credit risk quality assurance colleagues to expand product knowledge, to enrich the understanding of CIBC counterparty credit risk system, and to provide seamless backup support.

How you’ll succeed

  • Experienced - Solid knowledge of capital markets, including OTC derivatives, security financing products, fixed income products and their valuation methodologies. Trading floor support and database knowledge gained through related experience is a plus.

  • Knowledgeable - Strong knowledge of counterparty credit risk management terminology and principles. CFA and/or FRM designation is an asset.

  • Analytical - Experience with data analysis tools (incl. data analytical skills using SQL, VBA programming languages)
