As a Consultant, Health and Safety, you’ll help clients proactively address their most significant EHS risks, enhance safety culture, and achieve regulatory compliance with confidence. You’ll support global clients through complex technical challenges while gaining exposure to mentorship, cross-functional projects, and long-term career growth within ERM’s rapidly expanding Safety Services team. This is a key stepping stone toward senior consultant and leadership roles across our global practice.

What You’ll Bring

Required

  • BS/MS degree in a related field or equivalent experience (6+ years in lieu of education).
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in safety, risk management, and EHS compliance.
  • Hands-on experience running safety programs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Willingness to travel up to 80% (domestic and international) during peak project periods.
  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Preferred

  • Professional certifications such as CSP or CIH, or the desire to pursue them (ERM supports professional development).
  • Prior consulting experience with demonstrated client relationship skills and delivery of high-impact solutions.
  • Expertise in corporate H&S strategy development—including safety culture, leadership, and serious injury/fatality risk reduction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement Safety Management Systems and conduct risk assessments for compliance and performance improvement.
  • Conduct incident investigations, root cause analyses, and develop corrective action plans.
  • Lead safety and industrial hygiene programs, including qualitative and quantitative exposure assessments.
  • Develop innovative solutions for complex EHS and regulatory challenges.
  • Design and execute corporate H&S strategies across multiple industries.
  • Manage project scope, budget, and schedules to exceed client expectations.
  • Develop and deliver safety and IH-related training.
  • Participate in EHS audits.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to drive repeat engagements and expand ERM’s market presence.

For the Consultant, Health and Safety position, the anticipated annual base pay is $76,000 - $88,324 (USD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).
