Consultant, Customer Research

What you’ll do:

As Canadian Tire Corporation continues its mission of being customer‑obsessed and making data‑driven decisions, the Customer Research team plays a critical role in delivering high‑quality qualitative and quantitative insights across the organization. The team supports quarterly tracking, category and brand research, custom ad‑hoc studies, and strategic insight projects to ensure the voice of the customer informs business decisions.

This role is an exciting opportunity for an early‑career quantitative market researcher or consumer insights professional to join a high‑impact in‑house research team at one of Canada’s largest retailers.

Reporting to a Manager, Customer Research, the Research Consultant will support the execution of end‑to‑end quantitative research projects. This includes contributing to survey design, programming, data analysis, synthesis of insights, and storytelling to help internal stakeholders make informed, customer‑centric decisions.

Research projects may span customer journey mapping, concept and creative testing, usage & attitudes studies, drivers and barriers analysis, pricing and feature evaluation, opportunity sizing and other foundational research initiatives.

  • Support end‑to‑end execution of quantitative research projects, from project kickoff to final reporting

  • Assist with research request intake by participating in briefing meetings and clarifying business objectives

  • Develop and review survey questionnaires to ensure clarity, flow, and alignment with research goals

  • Program surveys in-house or with external partners (e.g., Sparq, Alida) and ensure data quality

  • Create and manage sampling plans while following best practices for panel usage and respondent experience

  • Analyze quantitative data using Excel and contribute to insight synthesis and key learnings

  • Build clear, story‑driven PowerPoint presentations with actionable recommendations

  • Support presentations to stakeholders and participate in insight discussions

  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional partners across marketing, merchandising, and strategy teams

  • Partner with third‑party research vendors when needed and support outsourced projects

  • Contribute to innovation and learning within the research team, including exposure to advanced analytics methodologies (e.g., conjoint, segmentation)

What you bring:

  • 2+ years of experience in quantitative market research (agency, consultancy, or client‑side)

  • Undergraduate degree in business, marketing, analytics, social sciences, or a related field

  • Solid understanding of market research fundamentals, including survey design, sampling, and data interpretation

  • Hands‑on experience supporting quantitative studies from design through reporting

  • Strong Excel skills for data analysis and PowerPoint skills for insight storytelling

  • Ability to manage multiple projects or workstreams with guidance and prioritize effectively

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with comfort presenting findings to internal audiences

  • Detail‑oriented, curious, and eager to learn in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment

  • A positive, team‑first mindset with an interest in growing as a research professional

Broadband Salary Range: $53,000 – $88,000 CAD
Our typical hiring range is between $53,000 and $70,000 CAD. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements. For critical roles, the compensation offering will be reviewed to ensure alignment with market rate and conditions and the unique value you bring to the role.
