What you'll be doing
As a member of CIBC’s team, the Consultant, Business Effectiveness is an experienced professional responsible for providing specialized advice and consultation to leadership teams, primarily in the areas of governance, risk, and controls. The role leverages subject matter expertise to support and participate in quarterly testing activities, audits, and artifact reviews, ensuring compliance and effective risk management. The Consultant, Business Effectiveness exercises sound judgment in addressing complex issues, conducts thorough research, and develops recommendations for process improvements.

You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How you'll succeed
Stakeholder Management- You will respond to stakeholder inquiries and requests, providing professional high-quality customer service for the assigned portfolio.
Analytical Thinking- Provide analysis and support to initiatives that support internal clients. Provide support to LOB's within Business Effectiveness Team in understanding, identifying, and addressing all applicable laws, regulations, and CIBC policies. This includes partnering with Compliance Dept, Internal Audit, Governance Risk and Controls to understand implications that affect LOB's.
Business Acumen- You have a good understanding of effective IT Governance components such as Value Delivery, Strategic Alignment, Performance Management, and Risk Management.
Who you are
You can demonstrate 5 years of experience in. Audit and Compliance functions and have a strong understanding of Internal quality controls, SOX/ITGC controls, Records management and CIBC Standards. Ideally, you have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), a collaborative mindset, and are well-versed in both Excel and PowerPoint. It's an asset to have a technology background or have supported a Technology from a Governance standpoint.
