What Business Analysis contributes to Cardinal Health
Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.

Business Analysis serves as a liaison between the organization's businesses and IT systems development teams to align business strategies and capability needs and to ensure IT systems enable their desired value. This job family identifies and analyzes business needs, defines requirements and objectives, and makes recommendations for solutions using new and existing technologies. This job family researches and documents relationships between the components of the application system (i.e., end users, business processes, data, applications, and devices) and translates business requirements into application requirements.

NPHS IT enables technology solutions for the Nuclear & Precision Health Solutions business unit of Cardinal Health.  From more than 150+ locations in the U.S., the business unit manufactures and dispenses time-critical pharmaceuticals used for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. NPHS IT is a product-centric team operating in a DevSecOps model which includes a dedicated business product owner and a geographically dispersed team. The technology includes custom-developed solutions used internally and commercially.

What is expected of you and others in this role

  • Defines requirements in accordance with product priority. Understands Epic level problem statements and has the ability to break down the problem into manageable development scope with detailed, granular and development-ready stories.
  • Ensures stories align to stated product goals and drive product metrics.
  • Extracts and articulates systems design from informal process descriptions by users
  • Interpolates user and Product Owner needs from informal descriptions of wants
  • Leads elicitation sessions using a variety of requirements gathering methods such as interviews, documentation analysis, surveys, site visits, business models with executives, managers, developers and subject matter experts.
  • Facilitates the team through the analysis of, and makes recommendations towards, complex business decisions.
  • Experience with Acceptance Test-Driven Development
  • Experience with customer-facing systems a plus
  • Responsible for Agile processes and improvement within the team
  • Help prioritize the removal of impediments and coach the team to resolve them
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with business and customer groups and within the team, by helping the team to make their work transparent, and managing change as issues arise
  • Be part of a continuous improvement culture and reduction of waste
  • Mentoring and demonstration of thought leadership
  • Ensure the team remains focused on priorities and aligned to strategy and roadmaps, and that backlog and release plans are maintained
  • Support the team to communicate technical and quality priorities to the product owner(s) to ensure sufficient investment in the delivery capability
  • Undertake delegated responsibilities, as required

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the business product owners and other Cardinal Health IT teams to Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in both frontend and backend components.

  • Ensure seamless delivery and integration.

  • Understand the NPHS business and build thoughtful, complete solutions.

  • Maintain stability and implement new technology where benefits are possible.

  • Participate in special projects to align with strategic priorities.

Qualifications

  • 4-8 years of experience, preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred, or equivalent work experience, preferred

Anticipated salary range: $80,900 - $115,500
