Construction VDC Manager - Data Centers, Mission Critical

STV is seeking a VDC Manager to join the Digital Advisory team at our Mount Pleasant, WI location. The ideal candidate will have strong BIM/VDC experience, Autodesk platform expertise, and practical understanding of MEP, structural, and industrial building systems.


This role supports project teams and clients by leading BIM/VDC coordination, improving constructability, managing model-based workflows, and driving accountability across design teams, contractors, trade partners, and owner stakeholders. The VDC Manager will help ensure that coordination issues are identified, assigned, tracked, resolved, verified, and clearly communicated to project leadership.


Responsibilities include:

  • Lead multidisciplinary BIM/VDC coordination across architecture, civil, structural, MEP, specialty systems, contractors, trade partners, and client stakeholders

  • Facilitate coordination meetings, clash reviews, model audits, and issue-resolution workflows to support constructability, quality, schedule alignment, and field installation sequencing.

  • Review MEP, structural, and specialty trade models for coordination quality, spatial conflicts, access/maintenance clearances, installation feasibility, and alignment with project requirements.

  • Drive accountability by establishing agendas, action items, responsible parties, due dates, issue ownership, escalation paths, and resolution tracking.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain BIM Execution Plans, VDC workflows, model coordination procedures, digital delivery standards, and project-specific protocols.

  • Monitor model progress, coordination status, and deliverable readiness against project milestones; identify risks, delays, unresolved conflicts, or non-compliance and escalate as needed.

  • Evaluate project models and digital deliverables for compliance with client standards, contract requirements, LOD expectations, coordination procedures, data requirements, and handover needs.

  • Interface with clients, project managers, discipline leads, contractors, trade partners, consultants, and owner representatives to define BIM/VDC deliverables and align workflows with project goals.

  • Provide technical support for Autodesk platforms including Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM Collaborate Pro, and related coordination tools.

  • Support BIM/VDC uses including design coordination, construction planning, 4D sequencing, 5D quantity/cost workflows, logistics planning, asset data management, and digital handover where applicable.

  • Develop digital libraries, templates, scripts, automation tools, model health workflows, and best-practice resources to improve consistency and efficiency.

  • Mentor junior staff and project teams in BIM/VDC best practices, coordination workflows, model management, MEP/structural coordination, and issue management.

  • Stay current with Autodesk updates, VDC technologies, digital twin workflows, automation, AI-enabled delivery tools, and emerging industry standards.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • 4+ years of AEC experience with a focus on BIM, VDC, digital delivery, model coordination, construction technology, or project delivery technology.

  • Practical understanding of MEP and structural systems coordination in complex building, infrastructure, industrial, or equipment-intensive environments.

  • Strong knowledge of Autodesk platforms such as Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM Collaborate Pro, and related tools.

  • Experience leading multidisciplinary coordination workflows with design teams, contractors, consultants, trade partners, project managers, and/or owner representatives.

  • Familiarity with BIM Execution Plans, LOD requirements, model auditing, QA/QC procedures, digital delivery standards, coordination procedures, and client requirements.

  • Ability to review models for coordination issues, constructability risks, access/clearance conflicts, installation sequencing concerns, and handover readiness.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders, assign and track action items, drive issue closure, and hold project participants accountable in a collaborative manner.

  • Strong communication, organization, project management, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.

  • Ability to translate technical BIM/VDC issues into clear project risks, actions, and recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Preferred but not required:

  • Professional certification in BIM Management, VDC, construction management, project management, or related technologies.

  • Experience with infrastructure, transit, aviation, rail, water/wastewater, healthcare, laboratories, data centers, industrial facilities, central utility plants, or other MEP-heavy / equipment-intensive environments.

  • Experience coordinating mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, low-voltage, process piping, utility systems, structural steel, equipment supports, embeds, sleeves, penetrations, and access/maintenance zones.

  • Experience in an owner’s representative, construction manager, VDC lead, BIM coordination manager, or digital delivery leadership role.

  • Experience with owner-side BIM/VDC requirements, asset data, COBie, digital handover, facilities management integration, or digital twin workflows.

  • Familiarity with 4D scheduling, 5D quantity/cost workflows, construction sequencing, logistics planning, model-based progress tracking, or field coordination workflows.

  • Experience with Dynamo, Python, Power BI, Autodesk Platform Services, automation workflows, ISO 19650, National BIM Standards, or client BIM standards.

Compensation Range:

$130,962.60 - $149,671.54
