Construction Safety Manager

What The Role Is

Reporting to the Director of Safety, the Construction Safety Manager is responsible for all aspects of Construction Field safety at Clearway. The primary objective is to provide Safety support to the Construction organization, manage EPC safety requirements, and manage Clearway safety representatives at the sites. Will additionally support Safety policy and procedure development as well as supporting Safety related training. This role is a strong partner with the Construction Team and Human Resources.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing Regional Construction Safety Specialists
  • Perform Safety Specialist duties for assigned Region
  • Coordinate with Construction Management and Site Managers to identify needs and provide assistance to address Health and Safety issues.
  • Coordinate compliance with OSHA, Federal, state and local safety regulations as well as Clearway company safety standards.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the company safety program and each of the program activities.
  • Apply, administer, implement, assist with, monitor, and account for all aspects of the company safety program.
  • Communicate safety requirements to managers and employees.
  • Coordinate with management of the facility on regulatory interpretation, timely internal and external reporting, and overall safety and health compliance. 
  • Conduct internal safety and health audits and incremental inspections of the facility to ensure compliance. 
  • Hear & resolve employee & management safety concerns/address safety issues
  • Investigate or support investigation of the causes of accidents and incidents then makes recommendations to ensure the prevention of recurrences. 
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of safety and technical training programs, designs improvements, and works with management to implement identified improvements. 
  • Evaluate, develop, and assist with delivering Health and Safety related training programs to improve skills in the safety aspects of employees' jobs.
  • Lead and coordinate all safety and training related meetings with the position.

What You'll Bring

  • 3-5 years’ experience in safety and training, or 6 years of equivalent experience in related work discipline.
  • Must have previous experience in the power generation industry, wind or solar experience is highly preferred
  • A high school diploma or GED is required
  • Experience using a personal computer and standard business software
  • SharePoint experience is preferred
  • Ability to travel between plants 40 - 60% of the time
  • Experience in construction safety preferable on renewable energy projects
  • Strong understanding of 1926 OSHA standards
  • Knowledge of applicable health and safety regulatory requirements
  • Ability to operate effectively in a team environment – as team member and leader
  • Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to effectively make presentations to large groups of people
  • Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all individuals
  • Ability to read, create and follow written policies and procedures
  • Ability to complete tasks on time without direct supervision
  • Ability to multi-task

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law. This role is eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.

Salary Range Across all U.S. Locations
$115,000$150,000 USD
