Let's find your role:

You will collaborate and build strong day to day relationships with multiple stakeholders including Property, Finance, Project Managers / PMO’s, QS and external suppliers and consultants to ensure projects are delivered within agreed commercial frameworks and timescales. You will play a lead role in the delivery of the planned Asset Renewal programme across all disciplines, driving value engineering and cost effectiveness, and work closely with our facilities partner on reactive projects.

You will:

  • Plan and execute an annual asset renewal programme across assigned asset disciplines - including delivery of planned & reactive projects.
  • Implement additional emergency and unforeseen projects as required.​
  • Ensure all projects are compliant with Construction Design & Management Regulations 2015 and approved/allocated in line with Asda governance with regards costing and approvals.
  • Projects to be delivered with all statutory requirements satisfied, gaining landlords, planning, warrant approvals along with adhering to internal way of working.
  • Manage and develop an effective contractor and consultant base to deliver excellence in implementation by challenging costs and utilising Procurement Tender frameworks to achieve best value and ensure optimum spend of available budgets.
  • Support with the overall planning, organising, leading, coordination and managing resource from inception to completion.
  • Be accountable for scope, programme, cost and quality whilst maintaining high Safety, Health & Environment standards.  
  • Engage and coach a Direct Report to ensure motivated and enthusiastic delivery of assigned projects.

  • High competency of CDM regulations / Construction Management experience
  • Qualified in SMSTS and Asbestos awareness
  • Project & Programme management experience
  • Ability to manage fast paced programmes & deliver critical milestones
  • Ability to manage multiple projects & deliver completion on time
  • Excellent communication skills – written & verbal
  • Construction management cost experience & ability to manage & challenge cost to deliver best value, landing projects within cost budget.
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Organised and methodical way of working & meticulous planner
  • To be flexible to the needs of the business & can adapt to an everchanging landscape
  • Ability to manage SME’s & external contractors
  • Lead relationship with all external construction teams as scheme owner​ and as representatives of Asda as the client with regards to matters of CDM and Health & Safety.
  • Hold an understanding of Retail Operations
  • Previous Retail Construction experience, especially on Convenience / Petrol Filling Stations (Desirable)
  • Hold or working to APM Project Management qualification or equivalent qualification (Desirable)
