The Oregon Department of Administrative Services (DAS) is seeking a Construction Project Manager 1 to help plan and deliver essential facility and infrastructure projects that support state agencies across Oregon.

What You Will Do
As a Construction Project Manager, you will:
Lead small to medium Public Works and Goods & Trade Services projects from planning through completion
Develop scopes, budgets, schedules, and project plans with tenants, contractors, architects, and engineers
Oversee permitting, project communications, and all documentation
Prepare and review solicitations, RFPs, ITBs, and contracts
Monitor consultant and contractor performance and resolve issues
Manage payments and ensure all closeout materials are completed accurately

What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Architecture, Planning, or Engineering AND one year experience related to the class series concept;
OR
An Associate Degree (or comparable college course work) in Architectural, Engineering or Construction technology; AND 30 months experience related to the class series concept;
OR
Four years of experience related to the class series concept.
Desired Attributes:
Experience with project management to include implementing projects and developing business plans, discovery meetings, project tracking, timelines, maintaining budgets, and reports.
Experience utilizing MS Project, Excel, TRIRIGA (or similar).
Excellent professional communication skills including verbal and written communication and public speaking/presentation experience.
Construction Industry Experience - Working knowledge of the commercial construction industry including understanding and background in building maintenance methods; construction planning & processes; experience managing construction projects; general design and construction process; contracting strategies; creating specification reviews and technical specifications; basic understanding of the more complex architectural and engineering and public improvement contracting methods.
Experience assessing risks, mediating issues involving multiple parties, and minimizing potential impacts on tenants, budget, schedule, and deliverables.
Knowledge of public purchasing rules, practices, and principles.

Hybrid Work Opportunity: The position is approved for a hybrid work schedule; however, the selected candidate will work primarily in the office during the initial training period. Terms will be discussed and agreed upon with the successful candidate.
Additional Details
This recruitment is for one permanent, full-time, SEIU-represented Construction Project Manager 1 position, and may be used to fill future vacancies.
Employee is required to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license issued by the state where the employee resides.
*The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect the additional 6.95%.
