Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Construction MEP Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to provide site‑based leadership and technical oversight for all Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health (MEP) construction activities on a mission‑critical data center project, ensuring safe, compliant, and high‑quality delivery in line with program and commissioning requirements.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead and manage all MEP construction activities on site, acting as the PMC’s primary technical authority for mechanical, electrical, and specialist systems.

  • Oversee contractor performance to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, method statements, and data center standards.

  • Coordinate closely with the Construction Manager, Senior Project Manager, Design Team, and Commissioning Agent to ensure seamless integration of MEP works with civil, architectural, and systems scope.

  • Review and monitor MEP construction sequencing, access strategies, and interface management to protect program and commissioning milestones.

  • Ensure strict adherence to HSE requirements, leading by example and intervening where unsafe practices or conditions are observed.

  • Monitor and report on quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) activities, including inspections, testing, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and site acceptance tests (SAT).

  • Review and provide recommendations on material submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, technical queries, and change proposals related to MEP scope.

  • Support the management of commercial and contractual matters, including progress measurement, variation support, claims input, and risk identification.

  • Lead readiness for pre‑commissioning, integrated systems testing (IST), and RFS activities, ensuring construction works support operational and maintainability outcomes.

  • Produce and contribute to clear, accurate progress and technical reports for the Employer and senior PMC leadership.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).

  • 7–10 years of experience delivering MEP scope on major projects, with demonstrable experience on data centers or other mission‑critical facilities.

  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical power (MV/LV), UPS, generators, BMS/EPMS, fire protection, and ELV systems typically found in data center environments.

  • Proven experience working within a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) or Engineer role, overseeing contractors rather than self‑performing construction.

  • Solid understanding of construction sequencing, installation quality, and commissioning readiness for mission‑critical systems.

  • Experience operating under FIDIC‑based contracts and standard international construction practices.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple contractors, disciplines, and stakeholders.

  • Relevant professional or vocational training in MEP construction management or project controls.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Prior experience delivering hyperscale or enterprise data center projects through construction and commissioning phases.

  • Familiarity with TIA‑942, Uptime Institute, or equivalent data center standards.

  • Experience supporting commissioning management, IST, and RFS handover on live or phased data center program.

  • Exposure to digital construction management tools (e.g., Procore, Aconex, BIM 360).

  • Experience working in the Middle East, including authority inspections, approvals, and contractor management.

  • A proactive leadership style, capable of owning site issues, driving resolution, and escalating risks early.
