Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield

Construction Manager

URW The Nordics Headquarters Full time

We're looking for a talented individual to join our Construction and Development team as the Construction Manager. Fisketorvet Copenhagen Mall is on a transformative journey, from a traditional shopping centre established in 2000 to a sustainable, mixed-use destination that redefines how people come together and experience urban life. Guided by URW’s ambition to operate vibrant, world-class, retail-anchored destinations in the world’s leading cities,

Fisketorvet is already well on its way. Recent milestones include a new zoning plan enabling an additional 42,000 sqm of development, the opening of the Havneholmen Metro station, a fully redeveloped food hall, and the introduction of unique tenants such as Power, Uniqlo, Nike, and more.

This is a broad and impactful role with exposure to a wide range of projects, offering the opportunity to play a key part in shaping the future of one of Copenhagen’s most vibrant destinations.

What you will be doing…

Project Planning & Advisory

  • Provide expert input on construction matters—including timelines, costs, and technical aspects—to support internal strategies, complex leasing negotiations, business case development, and annual budgeting.

  • Lead planning, feasibility assessments, and cost estimation for Fisketorvet’s own construction projects, as well as landlord works for major tenant refurbishments and redevelopments.

Project Delivery & Execution

  • Lead the contracting process and ensure the effective execution and delivery of construction projects in line with agreed scope, quality, timelines, and budget.

  • Actively monitor ongoing works and drive performance, ensuring projects meet high standards of safety, quality, and sustainability.

Technical Leadership

  • Manage and challenge external technical advisors, ensuring the delivery of high-quality designs, documentation, and execution support.

  • Provide technical oversight and ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and best practices.

Stakeholder & Partner Management

  • Coordinate, align, and monitor external partners, including developers and contractors, particularly during building rights projects or adjacent developments impacting Fisketorvet.

  • Work closely with tenants on redevelopment projects, ensuring alignment with landlord specifications and overall destination vision.

Authority Liaison

  • Act as the primary point of contact for public authorities regarding building permits, zoning plans, and traffic-related matters.

  • Navigate regulatory processes efficiently to support project timelines and compliance.

Internal Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams including leasing, asset management, operations, marketing, and finance to ensure alignment and seamless project execution.

  • Facilitate clear communication and information sharing across the organisation.

What skills, experience, and knowledge will you need to be successful?

  • Solid experience in construction management, project management, or a related engineering discipline, preferably within commercial real estate, retail, or mixed-use developments.

  • Strong understanding of construction processes, cost management, and technical design.

  • Proven capability to manage multiple stakeholders, including consultants, contractors, authorities, and internal teams.

  • Experience with large-scale refurbishments, tenant fit-outs, or redevelopment projects is highly desirable.

  • Strong project planning, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with Danish construction regulations and permitting processes is an advantage.

  • Fluent in Danish and English (written and spoken).
