Let's find your role:

You will collaborate and build strong day to day relationships with multiple stakeholders including Property, Finance, Project Managers / PMO’s, QS and external suppliers and consultants to ensure projects are delivered within agreed commercial frameworks and timescales. You will play a lead role in the delivery of the New Space, Food Service & Tenant programme across all disciplines, driving value engineering and cost effectiveness, and work closely with our facilities partner.
You will:

  • Manage all key activities involved in project delivery, inclusive of site surveys, scoping visits and production of scoping / design drawings, cost estimates & management, value engineering, project tenders, appointment & management of Principal Contractors & Designers, coordinate building regulation / planning applications, on-site Project Management & on-site H&S
  • Coordinate and supervise all aspects of the detailed design by collaborating with Engineers, Architects Quantity Surveyors, M&E Consultants etc.
  • Cross-functional working relationships mainly with Property, Legal, Town Planning, Store Planning, Cost Management, 3rd Party Tenants and External Design Teams & Consultants
  • Develop implementation plans that minimise disruption to customers & Stores, applying learning to future schemes through a continuous improvement model
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with Retail Colleagues / Internal Departments & External Teams during the development phase of projects and throughout the works
  • Undertake site H&S inspections, site meetings, and manage latent defects & ensure Asda fulfil its Client duties under CDM Regulations
  • Monitor and communicate project programmes to ensure delivery / Supervise and report any variance to project expenditure & ensure there is a commercial lens on all projects, with a clear business case that aligns to departmental P+L / capex plans
  • Develop talent / manage performance across the team & across the contractor base
  • Feedback construction learnings through the Model process to capture them for future schemes
  • Leading project-related meetings, delivering short term reactive company projects, regular status reporting and updates.
  • Lead any defects meetings and managing through to completion
     

Let's find out about you:

  • High competency of CDM regulations / Construction Management experience
  • Qualified in SMSTS and Asbestos awareness
  • Project Management experience within the Construction sector (ideally with some new build site experience)
  • Technical Construction knowledge & experience / Construction or H&S Qualifications (or willing to work towards a Qualification)
  • Cross functional engagement and ability to influence Senior Stakeholders
  • Driving innovation, improving stores for customers and colleagues
  • Able to influence both internal and external stakeholders
  • Leading and chairing meetings both internal and external
  • Excellent communication skills for reports and presentations
  • Strong and demonstrated ability to build lasting relationships with key stakeholders
  • You're naturally organised and have the ability to work quickly across multiple priorities
  • Hold an understanding of Retail Operations
  • Previous Retail Construction experience, especially on Convenience / Superstores (Desirable)
  • Hold or working to APM Project Management qualification or equivalent qualification (Desirable)
