Job Summary: This position is location within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Mid-Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6), Fayetteville NC VA Coastal Health Care System, is located in the Engineering Service, Project Engineering and Design Section. The position is organizationally aligned under Engineering Service and is supervised by the Supervisor, Project Engineering and Design Section.
Major Duties:
Qualifications: To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. GS-09 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-08 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-08 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: review and interpretation of construction project plans, drawings and specifications; conducting project site visit inspections, obtaining basic project data, inspecting quality of work, identifying and reporting problems and deficiencies in the work, and/or writing project inspection reports. OR Education: Applicants may substitute education for the experience required for the GS-09 level. Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have successfully completed at least 2 years (if determination from your school cannot be made this is typically identified as 36 semester hours) or more of graduate level education at an accredited college or university in Construction Management or in a field directly related to the position being filled. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond graduate level education but less than the 2 years of graduate level education as described in B.
