Job Summary
Lead congestion management of energy markets, new generation and transmission projects in locations where AEP or its affiliates conduct business. Provide analysis, recommendations and initiate transactions to manage financial risk associated with energy delivery for both short term and long-term time frames. Provide support to groups within commercial operations, asset development, regulatory and public policy as needed.Job Description
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Responsible for developing company’s ARR/FTR/CRR/TCR strategy and execution across all ISOs/RTOs where company conducts business. Participate in congestion and transmission related working groups in multiple ISOs/RTOS.
Interface with ISO/RTO counterparts to represent the interests of company with respect to ARRs, FTRs/TCRs and CRRs. Optimize profitability by providing input and guidance on transmission issues and their effect on overall operations. Provide transmission expertise and analytical support for company’s commercial development and origination activities. Author, prioritize and lead process improvement projects.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education -- Bachelor's degree engineering, or related field.
Work Experience -- minimum of 10 years of experience in an energy related field. Preferred competency in at least one programming language in addition to Microsoft Office applications.
Alternatively, qualification requirements can be fulfilled by the following:
- Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or Operations Research with at least seven (7) years of experience in the field of transmission congestion analysis; OR,
- Individuals with a Doctorate degree in engineering or other appropriate technical field with five (5) years of experience in the field of transmission congestion analysis will also be considered to satisfy this requirement.
- Post Doctoral work at a university located in the United States will be considered to be the same qualification as a Doctorate degree.
Highly developed oral and written communication skills.
Expertise in Power Flow Analyses and production cost simulations.

Base Salary: $137K - $177K
