Collins Aerospace’s Global Engineering & Technology Center in Puerto Rico (GETC-PR) is looking for a COOP / Intern Engineering Service to process / program coordination of engineering changes and releases into the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.

Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run May/June- December (including the Fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).

This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the duration of the coop. Relocation is not offered.

What You Will Do:

  • Work with transferring technical data following U.S. Regulations: Export Administration Regulation (EAR), & International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR).

  • Work collaboratively with other Engineering disciplines (Systems, Software, Mechanical, and Electrical), Programs, Production, Quality and Supply Chain to develop an integrated execution plan to satisfy customer requirements across applicable operating conditions.

  • Work with multiple types of documents (New Release, Drawing Updates, Deviation, Waivers, Etc.)

  • Evaluate/interpret all engineering inputs for proper classification, adherence to drafting and engineering standards, product structure impact and interrelationship of changes to other Collins products.

  • Sequence multiple engineering changes into iterative product structures to ensure proper production incorporation without hardware delays or causing shipping stoppages.

  • Support internal/ external meetings to share status, metrics, technical information, gather concurrence on changes, etc.

  • Maintain logs to ensure work is performed in a timely manner and by priority.

What You Will Learn:

  • Gain experience working with technical data under EAR and ITAR regulations.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop integrated plans that meet customer requirements.

  • Learn engineering change management, including document updates, classifications, and standards compliance.

  • Develop skills in product structure management to ensure smooth production implementation.

  • Strengthen communication and organizational skills through meetings, reporting, and priority tracking.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
