Concrete Finisher/Labourer

We are looking for a Concrete Finisher to join our team. These positions are project based and employment durations will be based on project needs. As a member of the Construction Team and reporting to the Concrete Foreman and Superintendent on site.

• Assist in the preparation of work areas in advance of concrete pours, including clearing debris, setting up forms, ensuring proper subgrade preparation, and any other tasks required.
• Take measurements and calculating the size and amount of material needed
• Assist in the installation, placement, and finishing of concrete, including pouring, spreading, leveling, and finishing to required specifications and cutting expansion joints.
• Ensure proper use of concrete tools such as rakes, shovels, hand trowels, ride-on trowels, and power vibrators.
• Follow instructions provided by Concrete Foreman, Supervisors or lead workers to complete assigned tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Mix and apply sealants and coatings to concrete surfaces according to specifications and design requirements.
• Always follow site safety rules. Report any unsafe work practices or safety hazards.
• General cleanup including the proper cleaning and maintenance of tools, equipment, and work areas.
• And other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For

• Proven experience as a concrete placer and finisher
• Red Seal Certification is an asset or working towards certification
• Proficiency in using concrete finishing tools for various types of finishes
• Valid drivers license (class 5) and reliable vehicle for commuting between project sites. Class 3 license considered an asset
• Able to work well in a team environment and help others as needed
• Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks that involve heavy lifting, bending, kneeling, performing repetitive type movements, and standing for extended periods
• Attention to detail and a strong commitment to producing high-quality work
• Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools
