Summary: Reporting to the Production Supervisor you will be responsible for prepping, moving, and spraying of Panels. Prepping parts for spraying bead blasting parts, wiping them down, and hanging them up to spray.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Loading and unloading Autoclaves
- Breaking Out / Demolding cured parts
- Trimming / Finishing / Assembly of Composites Parts
- Sand panels to be painted and cover / trim with tape or paper for protection.
- Mix epoxy for covering panels.
- Wash and prep panels for spraying
- Daily cleanup and organization of the paint and body shop.
- Lifting and Moving Panels.
- Prepare Molds and pre-preg patterns for Production
- Preparing Laminated parts for Autoclave or Oven Curing utilizing vacuum bagging techniques
- File, grind, sand, and smooth filled or repaired surfaces using power tools and hand tools.
- Remove damaged sections using saws and/or cutoff wheels, air grinders, and wrenches and install replacement parts using wrenches or welding equipment.
- Apply body paper or separating film to exterior repair areas to avoid damaging surrounding surfaces during repair process and remove after completion.
- While using scissors, stir sticks, and razor blades, the Composites Painter / Technician may be responsible for molding carbon fiber material utilizing the bagging process to mold parts.

Education/Experience:
- Must have extensive knowledge of the body shop paint process, as well as knowledge of composites.
- Requires knowledge of sanding, buffing, and blending paints.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Successful completion of the Medical Fit evaluation for use of respirator.
Computer Skills:
- Basic computer skills required.
Attendance Expectations:
- The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to travel occasionally.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed.
- This position must be performed in-person and can not be performed remotely.
Physical Demands:
- Requires vision (near, distance, depth), sense of touch, and ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – respirator and hearing and eye protection.
- Constantly stands, walks, manually manipulates, reaches outward, lifts/carries up to 20 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 25 pounds.
- Frequently reaches above shoulder, climbs, crawls, squats or kneels, bends, lifts/carries up to 50 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 40 pounds.
- Occasionally sits, lifts/carries over 100 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 100 pounds.
Environment Demands:
- Primarily works indoors. May be exposed to fumes.
