Job Description

Location: Enstone, Oxfordshire

About Us

We are a high-performance Formula One Team driven by innovation, precision, and passion.  Every component we manufacture plays a critical role in on track performance, and our Composites department sits at the heart of delivering race winning technology.

Our composite machining function produces high precision, race‑critical components using state‑of‑the‑art machinery and advanced composite materials.

As a Composite Machining Trainee, you’ll join an environment where learning is hands‑on, standards are world-class, and your development is taken seriously from day one.

The Role

The Composite Machining Trainee role is designed for individuals looking to build a career in high precision composite manufacturing within Formula One.

Working alongside experienced machinists and team leaders, you will be trained in the machining of composite components. Through structured on-the-job learning, you’ll develop the technical skills, attention to detail, and professional behaviours required to progress into a fully competent composite machinist role.

This is a practical, shop‑floor based role in a fast paced, performance‑driven environment where accuracy, safety, and teamwork are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn and assist in composite machining and trimming operations under supervision
  • Support CNC machining composite components to specification
  • Prepare, load, and unload parts, fixtures, and tooling safely and accurately
  • Follow technical drawings, route cards, and work instructions precisely
  • Carry out basic measurement and inspection checks to ensure quality standards are met
  • Identify and report quality concerns or non-conformance's in line with procedures
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, organisation, and cleanliness
  • Work collaboratively with laminating, trim & assembly, quality, and engineering teams
  • Actively engage in training, feedback, and development activities

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with a genuine interest in engineering, machining, or composite manufacturing, who is motivated to learn and develop in a high-performance environment.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • A strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
  • A proactive, positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
  • The ability to follow instructions and work methodically
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
  • Basic numeracy and problem-solving ability
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and professionalism
  • Eligibility to work in the UK (we are unable to provide sponsorship for this role)

No prior Formula One experience is required — what matters most is your attitude, reliability, and desire to develop.

What We Offer in Return

At Alpine Formula One Team, you won’t just be learning a trade — you’ll be contributing to the development of race critical components at the pinnacle of motorsport.

You’ll benefit from:

  • A structured training and development environment
  • Hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology and equipment
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Private medical healthcare
  • Free access to our onsite gym
  • Free, fully catered onsite restaurant throughout your shift
  • A collaborative, inclusive culture that supports growth and progression

Based at our Enstone facility, you’ll be surrounded by experts who are passionate about performance and committed to developing the next generation of manufacturing talent.
