This is Service/Maintenance type work which may involve scheduling, coordinating, reviewing. inspecting and approving work of others and/or contracts involving construction, operation, maintenance, land development, hydraulic controls and pumps. and utilities of private and public projects to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations, statutes and County ordinances). Also, may place, retrieve, and extract data from mechanical and electronic monitoring devices. Responsible for leading small to large projects involving one or more crewsWork is independent overseeing and inspecting work performed by County employees or contractors to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations, statues, county ordinances and safety regulations. In general, work assignments at this level include, but are not limited to: Inspects County land development projects, inspects private and public utility projects, inspects and approves each element of construction projects: ensures compliance with construciton standards/ordinances/regulations/contract specifications, inspects work done on pumps, values, regulators, control panels, electronic filtering and switching systems, sets grades and inspects for culvert construction, reviews and inspects residential log grading, reviews and issues right-of-way, culvert, and excavation permits, places, retrieves and extracts data from mechanical and electronic monitoring devices, investigates problems associated with assigned area, notifies engineers, developers, owners and contractors of deficiencies in work and safety concerns, participates in final/acceptance inspections for projects, reviews purchase orders and invoices and compare against work done, prepares pay requests and determines quantities, writes reports and compiles information concerning permit violations, Serves as the County's primary onsite inspector for construction projects, verifies quantities placed and compliance with contract plans and specifications, testifies in court hearings, handles safety issues including shutting down roads, takes core samples, ensures accurate record keeping is maintained, notifies concemed parties when maintenance of service changes are required, provides updates for asset database at work completion Work is independent overseeing and inspecting work performed by County employees or contractors to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations , statues, county ordinances and safety regulations
